Baggage delays again

Just got home after a 1.5 hour wait for our bags after arriving from MLE.

flight was packed and staff did a great job for it to be completely tarnished by yet another terrible baggage delay

Complain, Complain, Complain. Don't settle for anything less than 10k Avios (each)

I had the bizarre experience last week of my suitcase coming out within about 20 minutes of the BA108 landing at a B Gate and all the F suitcases actually coming out first to boot. Was speechless, it's literally half the time it has taken for the next shortest luggage wait for about two years at T5. I assume I am now overdue a two hour wait or lost suitcase as karma, though...

I agree that one should complain whenever the luggage wait much exceeds an hour from landing, that is not acceptable.

Arrived from a SH destination this evening and my bag was waiting for me on the belt. I was shocked.

Think I walked past that baggage belt this evening - seemed to be populated entirely by cardboard boxes. Thought it was a test until I saw someone taking theirs away

Not the point I know. But I think after an hour you can report it missing and leave. They then deliver it to you. I regard this as a free porter service, nice for the lazy.

I wish someone on the inside could tell me why luggage delivery at T5 is so consistently terrible - someone once said its because BA management has such an awful relationship with the union responsible but Im not sure if thats true or not.

It must be possible to have a better service? At T2 luggage delivery is usually quick, even if youve come from one of the far, long-haul gates.

Another example (see BA website, see BA app, see BA group boarding) of management simply not caring.

<I say all this in the hope that someone at British Airways reads these posts.>

I confirm your statement re/ T2 - significant reduction in wait times since I moved to Star Alliance (and no flying on planes without luggage at all).

I have done this. In fact, a baggage staff member encouraged me to do this after waiting for an hour.

Like most I try and avoid checked luggage though that was in part down to lack of confidence in the system after many years of flying BA. Since switching to mostly Star and Skyteam I have been struck how much better baggage delivery seems to be. Very quick at T2 as noted and priority delivery seems to be a real thing.
