I have to agree that the regional business seats are really bad and I pick SQ over CX nowadays especially after I manage to retain my GO status just to hold out until the Aria Studio seats arrive. They offer the same price for J. Also, the bad news is that they are not going to config the Aria Studio seats on every A330 with regional J. They are hoping that the 777-9 and A330neos arrive on time in 2028. CX had the chances to get the Boeing 787s as well but they had none. I flew on the SIN-HKG-SIN all the time and regional J was a constant feature more than 10 years ago. We had consistent lie flat prior to COVID and after COVID with the A350s. To bring back the regional J in Mid 2025 and now, its like a complete disregard for your customers. They swap equipment like cards around one week prior to flight.
Worst I had was 33A and I outright just change / cancel them. Personally the 777 and A330 regional J are comfortable enough for a nap but they can use them for their own domestic flights. Need not plunge their customer back for some retro 80th anniversary celebration...
