I've got this card - if anyone wants a referral link for extra sign up points - drop me a DM!

Yes: 50 nights from 3 credit cards

You can use a +1 mobile number during the application process for the UK debit card.

Hi there, I am based in mainland Europe and have no ties to UK, but do have friends who live there.

I'm thinking of getting an esim and opening an online digital account; it seems Monzo is the easiest one, any other suggestions?

Then, I should be able to apply to AMEX UK Marriott using my credit history on AMEX in my own country & apply for the Currensea mastercard, while supplying my friends' UK address.

Do you reckon this could work?

I'd be interested to know the reasons why people have this card over the Marriott Bonvoy credit cards.

With a debit card, you don't get Section 75 protection (which is pretty crucial IMO), nor do you build up your credit rating.

I have both the Amex and this debit card. First of all thats 30 nights.

Second of all Amex sucks at holidays. Stupid high FX fees.

why would I want to pay an extra 2.99% just because im on holiday!!!

Amex in other countries doesnt have a FX fee.

15 nights.
Free spending abroad with Marriott points.

Why wouldnt you get this for the cost of what can be less than one night in a Marriott property?

Section 75 protection is not crucial at all when I'm just using the card to settle hotel folios at check-out.

S75 is not crucial for 99% of your payments by volume, unless there is a reason I may need to get a refund off Starbucks.

credit rating - come on, how old are you? In the UK the average member of a frequent flyer scheme is 46 years old (Virgin Atlantic data), average income high. I know what % of UK cobrand credit cardholders ever pay interest and it is not far off zero. Credit rating concerns are for 21 year olds in 25k jobs. In any case you are unlikely to use Marriott as your primary card in the UK.
