If your points have not posted the day before renewal, I would consider buying the missing Qpoints, which will post instant.
Thanks! Very helpful and sorry about your loss of status

Hi,

For AVIOS redemption, does Qatar Airways allows redemption with partial segment operated by partner airlines? My itinerary is SIN to AGP, which Qatar Airways flies to but not on my travel dates.

My friend has a lot of spare Amex points that can be transferred to BA Avios and then QR and has offered to book me an award flight using those points. However, they don't have a QR account. Would it be red flagged by the system that a newly created account has Avios transferred in to then book a flight for someone who is not the owner of the account?

My problem is that I need those points credited before 8 Feb.
What if points are credited after? QR told me i will loose the status, for me there is no logic here as I have flown in advance, not on a last day, so basically i fulfilled the criteria for requalification.
Has anyone been in a situation when points were credited after downgrading? Did you get status back?
(yes I know first world problem) I have long haul transiting in HKG and was counting on visiting a nice lounge there :-(
Have a nice day!
In case useful for someone - be persistent:
I chatted with Qatar like 3 times
Called Iberia 3 times
Called Qatar 3 times till I found someone willing to help.
Finally I have sent Qatar via website a photo of a paper boarding passes and my check in luggage tag as a complaint and requesting avios.
Got my Q points today after calling first Iberia ( its not us its Qatar! ) and then called Qatar. Deadline to get Q points registered is tomorrow :-)
Really have a feeling that Qatar didn't wanted to credit points to force me to buy them.

Thanks for the useful update on persistence yielding results. TBH with Qatar it's more likely incompetence than anything else.

Newbie to QR (obviously not to FT) - a bunch of Qs - they might be addressed all over the place, but responses here or links to where I might find things most appreciated.

Award tickets (Business - Q-suites on first segment) issued by AS - OWE + 1 guest. SFO-DOH-Europe. Arrive DOH approx. 1930h, depart approx 1400h next day.
1) Lounge @ SFO? I find references to AS, but wasn't the AF lounge available at one point? (I'm familiar with the actual OW options @ SFO).
2) Lounge options @ DOH?
3) How early to be @ airport for 1400h flight?
3) Lodging options @ DOH? Anything included with the award ticket? Does what appears to be an airside hotel permit exit and re-entry? If landside, what would most convenient Marriott, Hilton or IHG properties?
4) We'd like to take a quick tour - options? Hire a driver for a couple of hours? Easy quick tours to take?
5) Connection is on A320 - how do I determine if the seats are recliners or lie flat?

Thanks!

Airside Oryx is crazy expensive (from my perspective).
Check if you can book cheaper hotel through Stopover in Qatar | Discover Qatar , check Souq Waqif by Tivoli (Doha old town) or just book it on booking. Many attractions within walking distance, no need for a tour if you sleep there. You have soulless Hiltons and Mariotts everywhere else. Taxi to town is like +-15 USD
QR Lounges in Doha you can google, both are great :-)
3 hours in advance so you can do lounge hopping (IF the ticket gets lounge access)

P Fares - partner lounges

Hi, I’m considering booking a P class fare from HKG to DUB via DOH on QR.

Would CX be able to see that I have a fare without lounge access included when accessing their lounges in HKG?

Yes, on two counts. First, your boarding passes are likely to be stamped NO LOUNGE ACCESS, and secondly, when the CX receptionist scans your BP there will be a red flag as it will be programmed in their system as not valid for lounge access. Bearing in mind that CX will probably charge QR for each lounge entry, QR are going to ensure that only those who are entitled to access are actually granted it.

You will however be entitled to lounge access if you have the appropriate One World status, regardless of cabin or class of ticket held.

New to QR, first flights booked. I have 350K avios with BA and have linked the accounts.

Privilege Club Question: Looking at flights LHR/LGW - BKK/MNL for random dates in November shows no availability at all. But individual sectors e.g LGW-DOH-LGW and DOH-MNL-DOH have plenty of availability. How do I book through trips via DOH ?

DOH MCT question: Booked thru QR for LHR-DOH-PKX with the second sector being on Xianyang with a QR codeshare. MCT is 1 hour. Must be legal - because QR sold me the ticket. Do I need to flag the MCT to crew when on the first sector? And how will I fare with that 1 hour layover?

1. The reason you cannot book it is because of married segments. A frustrating part of the QR experience.
2 . You are within the minimum connection time. There will be many people with short connections on yiur flight so no need to flag it.

Nearly all airlines have married segment rules/issues.

For the 20% QPoints on Qatar for platinum retention, can they be AA codeshared?
