Summary
The opening post is a guide on earning tier points for British Airways Holidays (BAH) under the new tier point system introduced in April 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will tier points and Avios post?
A: Typically your account transactions will post in the following order:
  1. Avios and bonus tier points for the flights within 3 days after the flight (partner airlines credit within 7 days after the flight).
  2. Bonus Avios for the BAH usually less than 7 days after the holiday completes.
  3. Tier points for the BAH up to 7 days after the holiday completes on Fridays.
  4. Avios for car rentals will be within 8 weeks after the rental completes.
  5. Add your Avis number to the BAH and then access your car reservation on the Avis app. You can see the car cost there to calculate the bonus Avios for the car.
Q: Do I need a return flight to qualify for a BAH?
A: No - hotel or car plus one flight is sufficient.

Q: Do the car/hotel dates have to cover the flight dates?
A: No - you can have a hotel stay at a completely different time to the flights in the booking.

Q: Can I book flights then add hotel or car later?
A: No - this will not qualify for a BAH, you must book flight+hotel or flight+car or flight+hotel+car at the same time.

Q: How to confirm my booking qualifies as a BAH?
A: Only one total price is shown and prices of the elements such a "flight" and/or "hotel/car" aren't shown.

Q: Can I get bonus points for the flights?
A: Yes if the flights have a BA, AA, or IB prefix.

Q: Can Gold Upgrade Vouchers be used with a BAH?
A: Yes - they will not earn additional tier points, you will be credited for the underlying fare.

Q: How do the tier points get divided?
A: Tier points are divided equally between each individual on the booking regardless of how much of the package they are using and irrespective of whether or not their BAC number is included (infants under 2 are excluded).

Q: Do children get tier points for a BAH?
A: Yes, although you may need to check afterwards as they are not always automatically added correctly.

Q: Do tier points get awarded for service or change fees?
A: No, these are explicitly mentioned in the T&Cs as not eligible for tier point award.

Yes it would, and the bonus tier points are provisional on the flight having a BA prefix.
Note you have to book hotel and flight at the same time to be considered as a BAH.

Also, even if they dont do a codeshare can British Airways holidays still book the holiday on Oman Air flight numbers?

Ideally, I would want British Airways flight numbers to get the bonus points, but its not essential. Stopping in Muscat is the key part.
I suggest making the call, not sure if any FTers have done this.

Oman Air is a Oneworld partner (as of June 2025) so in theory there should be codeshares at some point, however I actually can't find any on itamatrix for your route so best to call and ask for codeshare availability.

I realise this may be a pain as it introduces an extra stop but you could fly through Doha. (I've just flown through Doha to Bangkok myself all on BA coded flights) so LHR-DOH-MCT-DOH-BKK

Via Qatar is my reserve option but isnt this backtracking? Would LHR DOH MCT DOH BKK be allowed as a BAH if it visits Doha twice?

I dont mind skipping the BAH part altogether as we are pretty close to deposit due date anyway, it was more to get the TPs as a holiday and the bonus TPs on BA flight numbers.

Im aiming for BA gold this year via 4 BAHs all on QR to Asia (two to BKK, one to KUL and one to KTI) plus my usual European trips. I can do it fairly easily via 4 x 3500 holidays (just me) plus the bonus tier points on BA flight numbers.

Going through Doha twice would only be an issue if Qatar was your home. Going through your home location twice does not qualify for a BAH.

Using QR with BA marketing would get you a lot of bonus tier points on this route whether in a BAH or not.

Just completed my first BA holiday where my flights were different dates and location to the flights.

car hire - October not in UK
flight 1 - November internal in UK - bonus tier points posted within a few days
flight 2 - January internal in UK - bonus tier points posted within a few days

holiday tier points posted 5 days after flight 2 completed

interestingly I amended this booking at one point and increased the cost and I got credit for the full increased spend (which I should but wasnt sure if the system would be sophisticated enough to pick in up). Dont think I got credit for the 60 change fee though.

I have looked but cannot see the answer.

Is there anyway to know the exact number of nTP and Avios a BAH booking will earn? Nothing apart from bonus Avios in the booking Email and MMB just says "we cannot show you right now".

Wouldn't the nTP be total cost of booking divided by pax and then add the per sector bonus for BA coded flights?

Yeah, the nTP should be easy but the Avios more difficult and you may get an additional bonus for e.g. Avis care hire.

Good question, especially on the Avios. I have added a new section to the opening post:

How many Avios should be expected for a BAH?
  • Collect 1 bonus Avios for every 1 spent on a holiday with British Airways Holidays
  • Flights earn additional Avios as well as tier points - you can find out using Avios and Tier Points Calculator
  • BA has a number of car rental partners that offer an additional Avios boost: Avios for Car Rental
You'll need to add these up. There is also a section on tier points.

This is worth highlighting as it is buried in the T&Cs:

Tier points will not be earned on any other cash component associated to a ticket or booking, including government or airport taxes and fees, credit card surcharges, service or change fees.
I'll add this to the opening post, thanks for highlighting.

My children are both adults according to BA (>12) but certainly no issues at all with their nTPs posting as named parties on the booking.

So there is hope! Our Christmas holiday resulted in my daughter getting the cabin bonus TPs, but not the main holiday ones. It took an email and a phone call to get them added!

This is a very good datapoint and illustrates that BA still have not got it right when it comes to crediting children in a BAH. I will add a note to the wiki, thank you for posting.

I’ve read through the thread and can’t find a post that covers this (or may have missed it!)

I’m a UK resident.

If I book a BA Holiday from DUB > LHR, LHR > LAS, LAS > LHR with a hotel for the Vegas element, do I get the BAH TPs?
