The idea that anything BA does is seeking to improve the Customer's experience is laughable.

And it looks as though when something they do doesn't give them the 'right' feedback, it ends up getting 'enhanced'

Well it has been quiet for a while now. I had tried to be an active and constructive contributor but it was clear that there was a sizeable population that couldn't see past the BAEC changes.

In many ways it was trying to replicate the kind of community that exists here in addition to its role as a private sounding board covered by NDA. That is quite an ask. When it livens up then I think a focus as a private sounding board would serve it better and BA can always dip into FT to take the pulse of a larger community.

Its back. With an inane discussion about visas, which I read as asking (the wrong people) whether should we (BA) be concerned about the new ETA

Still very quiet at the Lab. Some amusing posts recently complaining about there being recent feedback from the site administrators!

And yes a fairly useless recent set of questions about visas. Feels a bit like moving the deckchairs on the Titanic IMHO.

The ongoing stream of emails (the latest being “We're launching four discussion rooms and five new polls”) reminded me of this thread.

Is anyone who has stuck with BA Future Lab since the launch able to confirm whether it did ever yield any substantive information or insights that should be kept confidential, or did it all turn out to be fluff and nonsense ?

Substantive? About as much as a Club Europe sandwich. The only confidential insight I gleaned was that BAs real innovation is in survey designendless polls on mostly irrelevant nonsense.

I don't post on it but do read it and would say that

1) No, nothing confidential really appears, and even if there is a hint of anything like that it is widely discussed on here first in any case
2) From having looked at it for a while its main purpose seems to be to justify what has already happened, A series of polls and discussions around what has already happened which if the discussions/polls don't go the right way for BA are followed with a similar set a few weeks later asking the same questions in a different way. So I don't think they are using it that much as a sounding board for the future, more a sounding board for what has already been done.

Perhaps used to justify those comments we keep getting from BA about what their customer has asked for or prefer.
Run the surveys with small numbers until one shows the result you want to justify what you were going to do anyway, voila!

Ive stuck with it in the hope of learning something useful but I can confirm it remains fluffily nonsensical.

Resurrecting this thread made me go off and dip into FL again, as I do every few weeks. The latest survey/question is about what premium means. Not surprisingly the overwhelming majority of the comments state that BA is no longer a premium airline. What a surprise!

I agree, which begs the (continuing) question what exactly is the purpose of FL if we all know nobody senior at BA will take any notice of any output from it?
