Stayed 5 nights last week in a city view suite. Arrived after 10pm and yes, room was ready (cant belive someone actually got a room at 9am) but checkin is not a seamless quick process but a lot of questions for a repeat customer. They preauth the entire stay amount, apparently due to fraud issues. We had left our luggage with the concierge during check in and then retrieved it after check in without the concierge noticing.. There is not a lot of securty around left luggage. No welcome note, or gift in the room. We had 3 persons which was why we picked suite, but there is too much furniture to put an extra bed in the living area. A very large couch with a chaise and two large chairs in addition to the desk and a chair. We called engineering to work with us to use an HDMI cable but they didnt know what it was, and called IT, who was able to assist. The elevator situation is still bad, with several elevators shut off at night, and long waits at times. I;m not sure who thought the bathroom design in the suites was a good idea either. The bathtub is enormous and has a great view and a TV but is it the best use of space.

The breakfast in glass has definitely gone down over the years. We were first introduced to noosa yogurt year ago, and now it just some regular brand of yogurt. The pastry selection is weak, as well the bread selection (more packaged type of bread than fresh baked loaves) waffles are just taken out of a bag and are not warm. There used to be newspapers on the round table where you enter and maybe a water dispenser, which is now all the way in corner in the back. There is however ,quite a bit of hot food. The omelette station was moved to where the bread and pastries used to be which means that if you are seated in front of the table there are people waiting for omelettes on top of your table. They have added tables to the entry way to accomodate the overflow. There is a poster with the timings of when breakfast is likely to be busy, but Im not sure how that actually helps with the flow in the morning. The staff is overwhelmed and doesnt communicate well with the people checking you in, so there is a line that backs up to enter even though there a lot of tables available inside.

We have gotten used to the lounge downstairs. If you hadnt visited the old lounge, it would probably seem fine and the food is ok. It is pretty packed at happy hour time but we did get a seat, and they did refill the cheese tray, but the crackers had run out and were not replaced.

It is the little details that this hotel does not pay attention to but there is such turnover, and you always see people in the lobby waiting for rooms. It's a good location especially with the light rail out the door but keep your expectations in check.

Last week outside Glass, in addition to the overflow tables I noticed they had set up a rope stanchion way back in the entry way, almost to where the lifts are. A sign posted said something to the effect of "Line for breakfast starts here" and as I walked by, staff were wheeling up a cart with ice water and paper cups and placed it at the head of the line. I can't imagine waiting in that line. Reminded me of an overcrowded airport lounge these days.

We were there last week, and will return in a week. Notably, Diamonds get full breakfast in Glass (a welcome reversion of the obnoxious surcharge for hot items). Moving the omelette station to where the bread used to be is a good thing, as the former location in the buffet line didn't work. The old location caused huge backups and it was quite difficult for people trying to access buffet items nearby, and difficult to tell where to join the queue. The downside is that there are far fewer bread items (no gluten-free area, for example).

Worth noting is that the filtered water dispensers in the rooms don't seem to ever have their filters changed. We marked the filter in our room right after it was installed, and the mark was still there.

I think the new lounge should have giant flat screens placed on the walls, displaying live feeds from rooftop cameras. That would at least recreate to some extent the experience of the windows in the old lounge.

This is my first time staying here. I was surprised reading the welcome sheet that l evening drinks and canaps are also offered in the lobby lounge which includes an antipasto platter, wine, beer and soft drinks. I dont know if I havent read the thread well enough or if this is something new. We arrived early and were given to Exec Lounge access and the staff there were wonderful in offering us food that they had just put on a trolley to be taken away and they delayed removing the hot food so we could choose what we wanted. I have a digital key for a room already too so will go and check the room is really ready. I am impressed so far.

I was upgraded to a deluxe room. There dont seem to be many room options available during my stay. I didnt try and negotiate as getting a room at 1000 was my main objective.

We competed our stay and I was impressed. The staff in the lounge were very friendly and attentive. I was surprised that the main hotel breakfast didnt have a wider range of food. The lounge had smoked salmon, which the main restaurant did not. The egg station isnt of interest to me so the lounge was calmer and in my opinion better. We had a table in the main breakfast location and the tables by the windows do have a great view.

In the past, smoked salmon was available by request in Glass (long ago it was on the buffet). I haven't tried asking for it this year or last, because it wasn't the best quality so I didn't want it enough to go to the trouble.

Had a great stay a couple of weeks ago. Two rooms both upgrades a few days ahead from King Deluxe to King Executive. At checkin was able to upgrade again to Junior Suite. The FD actually has a chart showing who gets what types of free upgrade.

A great stay overall and breakfast was good. Exec Lounge was fine and not crowded although the hotel was busy (at breakfast time).

Nice.

Did you get a copy of the chart? Or remember any of the details

After an early morning arrival from IAH, I sadly did not. The junior suite was the top Diamond free upgrade. I did remember that.
