I can't upload images, I don't know why, but this thing is bouncing around on one of my account pages.

I've had need to use the web site a lot recently, and, boy does that animation get old fast. Every. Frelling. Page. You would think that clicking the X in the upper right hand corner of the animation would convey the idea, "I'm done seeing this, thanks," but that information does not appear to be carried across pages. Color me grumpy from lack of sleep, but I find it obnoxious. Kind of the opposite of what a good marketing campaign should strive for. I like United, I really do, but their marketing has been bush league for a while now.

Alternate reason: some designer/marketing person decided to put some bad designs into the selection matrix, and the VP used AI to select the "bestest". Or whatever he or she typed in.

Silver lining: tulip sighting at LGA thanks to centennial celebration. The screen rotates through United logos throughout the 100 years.

Did they have the intern whip out a Power Point slide or something? That looks really bad and pre-amateurish to have the Tulip logo on a white background with the grey screen (different shade than the 100 one on the left too 🤦🏻♂️)

a) as much thought put into that as the 100yr logo
b) The relics of COdbaUA suits wanted to put it in as bad light as possible to quell debate. Yet even at its worst it’s still 100x better than the 100yr logo and 6.022 x 10^23 better than the bingo cage.

Two possible explanations:
a) as much thought put into that as the 100yr logo

1) Who is left at the higher echelons to do this? The c-suite is essentially all post-merger.

I don’t think that is how marketing, branding, messaging works in the sense you can have some pedestrian looking work as long as it isn’t seen by that many people and/or the “local” person sketched up something, so that’s OK.
