Price is determined by demand not by quality.

Pangasius catfish is a very nice fish. It is easy to cook, by which I mean not easily overcooked, and holds itself well together. I would think it makes an ideal catering fish.

At home I buy and cook pangasius often, it is light and delicious. I will leave the recommendation for the accompanying wine to others.

I'm not sure "I avoided eating catfish in New Orleans" is going to do wonders for your culinary credibility.

Zero-based budgeting strikes again.

Looks like the proofreader fell victim as well.

I've no issue with catfish being served, but I do find that the entire main meal selection is "eclectic" to say the least. I guess people would complain about lack of choice though, were it not that way.

Exactly. Basa is not standard catfish (which is average but ok). It is, quite literally, the cheapest fileting-size fish on the market because it is more of a parasite than a fish. It grows in overcrowded pools in the Mekong delta, and tastes incredibly muddy. It is probably the only fish I really dislike and I'm a massive fish lover.

I think the quality has improved, but the fact they attempted to fix its reputation by renaming it rather than proving its quality isn't a good sign.

Yes but am sure trying to get it on the plate in the lounge would lead to muttering Tongs ya Bas(sa)

Perfectly good fish. Don’t see the problem. Not even in my top 50 things I would like BA to address.

Exactly. Im not convinced that the dietary habits of the things we eat are directly related to how they taste. Im no expert but the meat in bacon sarnies is created from swill isnt it?

(PS and OT, lobster is a vastly overrated shell fish IMHO)
