Exactly. Basa is not standard catfish (which is average but ok). It is, quite literally, the cheapest fileting-size fish on the market because it is more of a parasite than a fish. It grows in overcrowded pools in the Mekong delta, and tastes incredibly muddy. It is probably the only fish I really dislike and I'm a massive fish lover.
