Why is SNN to Perth blocked for PE?
This is probably an unusual question but if anyone has any insights I would be grateful.
About a month ago I started looking for flights from SNN to LHR to PER for next October. However the Qantas website tells me that there are no available PE seats. However if I change my departure point to DUB or LHR, there are multiple PE seats available. And with three BA flights a day ( on EI metal) from SNN to LHR, it is extremely unlikely the blockage is on this sector.
I would particularly appreciate any work arounds people can think of to get my wife and I booked on QF10 in PE for our trip.
Thanks DH

The infamous married segments?
EI (SNN) vs BA (DUB) issue
Are DUB-LHR BA flights being offered as BA or QF flight numbers? If EI operated would not expect QF flight number.
Have you tried forcing as a QF multi city booking instead of a simple SNN-PER ticket?
May be a case where a real travel agent or a phone call to QF may offer more options.
What do you want to fly QF to Perth? Just PE seats and oneworld?
Have you tried other airlines, including business class? EK has PE on some flights.
Or BA to SIN then down to PER.

(I have flown out of SNN)
Edit
for 14 Oct 2026 QF multi city SNN-LHR-PER
PE would not price
Business did price at €5,038EUR one way
EI180 SNN LHR 07:40 - 09:05
QF10 LHR PER 11:55 - 11:45 +1
Suggest phone QF or a TA

If you cannot get a through fare and you are set on flying on Qantas, you could just book the SNN-LHR flight separately - if you book for day before for SNN-LHR and spend night in hotel at LHR, the risk of missing flight is reasonably mitigated
Checking on ITA, with EI & QF combination was able to get the pricing for a r/t journey in PE

If you go to matrix.itasoftware.com and do a search for SNN-PER for dates that you want - click on 'show advanced controls' and for outbound routing code pur EI QF and for inbound put QF EI
Select Premium economy for class of travel and you should get results that give the 1 stop option to Perth
If you then click on the flight option that you want to get the itinerary details and then click on 'copy itinerary as JSON'
in another tab go to bookwithmatrix.com and use control V to paste the itinerary into the box on that page and it should give you an option to book with Flight Network - folow link and should be able to book it online there
Alternatively, if it prices up ok you may be able to book over the phone with Qantas but you will be up for the additional cost for booking over the phone
Looking at the prices, I would suggest that there are much cheaper options for travel to Perth - Qantas coming in at EUR3500+ -- picking for example VN from CDG, ir is offering r/t fares of approx EUR1900 - though you would have an extra stop. It is offering business class r/t for EUR3995
If you are set on QF, it does seem doable, but you could get business class on another carrier for around the same price
