Lufthansa seems to be confident that the saga of the 787-9 seat certification will see its grand ending before May. It has made all 28 seats of the Allegris cabin on 787-9 flights available for sale from May 01 onwards. In the mean time, we should also get a clearer picture of what the 5-class 747-8 is going to look like. I suggest we all stock up on popcorn for that one.

Spohr expects that 2026 will see the reopening of Russian airspace:
"CEO Carsten Spohr told Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that Asia, particularly China, will drive growth after hoped-for opening of Russian airspace to all, emphasizing the airline's strategic focus on long-haul aircraft and direct Asia routes, though he provided no details on the basis for this optimism"
Between Allegris, the 777-9 deliveries and Russia airspace, Spohr's hope certainly does spring eternal.

I expect that 2026 will see opening of CEO position at Lufthansa Group. I will however provide no details on the basis for this optimism.

The supervisory board seems to be pretty happy with CS but are concerned the LHG unification is not radical enough:

I find it questionable to derive significantly increased morale from the metrics stated in the article: The index quoted rose from 3.6 during the pandemic to 3.9 in 2025 - that's merely an increase by 8%. I am admittedly not too well versed in HR metrics, but 8% doesn't sound much to me.

The German Government is entertaining the idea of giving Emirates the rights to fly to Berlin and Stuttgart. I would imagine Lufthansa having something to say about that.

If LH lobbied against this at all, it doesn't seem to have worked. EK will have a second flight on no time.

Following up on this, Emirates is bound to start Berlin flights by the end of the year with one daily B77W:
