Great, so we’re back to the ridiculous situation where CSR gets Maple Leaf Lounge access but JPMR doesn’t. How eyeroll-inducing.

As of last week the LGA CSR Lounge is now "tapping" your credit card to enter. I attempted to explain to the check-in hostess that the JPMR does not have a contactless chip, and needed to be "swiped". Apparently the criteria are two attempts to "tap" then if that fails to manually swipe. Neither process worked for me as I had to use my Priority Pass membership to enter. This new system is in the "test" phase at LGA, as hopefully there is mobile app check-in available in the future. I discussed with the supervisor that the staff needs to be educated that the JPMR doesn't have contactless chip. I felt like the "red headed step child" again with the JPMR.

The JPMR does have a contactless chip, as of a few years ago.

Do you have an old JPMR card? Mine definitely has contactless...

Mine isn’t contactless because it was sent the month before they changed it from the original heavy 28 oz card. So it will be next fall before it’s updated. I also have the non contactless plastic version that expires then too.

I miss the combo of the full metal and plastic cards. I could swap between them if I wanted a more subtle payment.

Anyone complaining to customer services about the removal of United all access? I will when mine expires. Was useful for Maple Leaf access when on United domestic tickets.

It's unsurprising that tap failed if your card does not yet have the contactless chip, but why did swiping fail? Did you ask if you could tap using a phone?

jdsva it seems to depend on the group you are working with. When I was based in NYC the team there was fantastic. The bankers in training, who have 2-3 years of experience, were particularly helpful once given instructions and trained a bit.

I could have kept this team (I think?), but now am bouncing around a bit more in the US and switched to a Chicago banker. There are parts of these processes that seem somewhat standardized and those are easy to have sorted (like bill pay, organizing a variety of different things with houses, etc.) but something like negotiating a car price you would probably still be best positioned to close that effectively. The biggest uplift would be in getting all of the stuff done before and after. For what it is worth I completely understand your perspective on costs and attention to detail

There seems to be no free AND fully thought-through lunch: quotes for a dedicated PA (who would presumably be hyper focused) were very expensive, a true family office is expensive, and JPM's services are not perfect. But all the same, it may be worth a shot for a few annoying things. After all, you are a client, and worst case just don't use them as it was free.

Thanks so much for the additional details!

We might move assets over (albeit self directed) to qualify for a 1% discount on a mortgage refi, but I think we’re not likely to give AUM right now.

2. The additional $250 for select Chase Travel hotels (IHG, Montage, Omni, etc.) in 2026.
Wondering if anyone has the answer to this yet? If not, I'll probably just call the JPMR line in the new year to double check. Thanks.

I think it's only "The Edit" hotels with a 2-night minimum. These credits are available until 12/31 of this year and then H1 '26 and H2 '26.

Also curious. I don't recall reading a reliably-cited source mentioning the whole extra $250 off IHG/Pendry/etc in 2026 thing for the JPMR -- just travel blogs parroting each other and random Reddit comments. I assume it to be true but would love to see it from a firsthand source.
