He also said that the vague "Later in 2026" language is tied to the unification of the AS and HA reservation systems.
On timing: We’ll publish specific dates once they’re finalized, but anticipate that many of the new features will go live after we integrate Alaska and Hawaiian reservation systems in the spring. That integration is a big milestone, and it sets the stage for the changes coming later in 2026.

That is true but who knows how long that will last. AS is messing this up big time, as we know, launching this new program without thinking it out. Integrating the AS/HA is a major step forward and It would not surprise me they walk back this "buying on another carrier" by the time summer hits.

On October 14, 2025, Alaska and Hawaiian will commence the Passenger Service System (PSS) transition process in preparation for the operational cutover from Amadeus to Sabre, which is scheduled to occur during the night of April 21, 2026. This transition will mark the point when new Hawaiian Airlines (HA) bookings for travel after this date will be processed through Alaska’s Sabre partition. At the time of cutover, a schedule update will be performed to publish Hawaiian-branded Alaska flights, and all existing bookings in Hawaiian’s Amadeus (1A) partition will be migrated to Sabre (1S). HA flights ticketed on 173 with travel dates up to April 21, 2026, will continue to be serviced in Amadeus.
The PSS cutover aims to ensure seamless operations for guests traveling between the two carriers. Integration efforts include unified travel applications and the ability for guests to check bags through the combined network.

Although flight numbers departing on or after April 22, 2026, will be displayed to guests as Alaska flights, the Hawaiian brand will remain present. The operating disclosure (DEI127 in the SSIM file) “Operated by Alaska as Hawaiian Airlines” will distinguish the Hawaiian-branded experience from the Alaska-branded one. The Hawaiian brand will be visible throughout the airport journey, ensuring consistency from shopping to travel. Efforts are ongoing with airports to display the Hawaiian Airlines logo on all relevant signage and display systems. For a consistent shopping experience, it is requested that the HA icon be shown for Hawaiian-branded departures wherever iconography appears. All branded assets are available upon request.

Then again, since it is probably in AS financial interest to switch as many members as soon as possible to the revenue based option, it might be a high priority todo item for them.

Interesting commentary about elite upgrades not being processed at T-24 when U space is available...my two most frustrating parts of the whole U space mess continue to be....
1. U space immediately going to zero when one U seat is taken--makes using upgrade certificates on separate PNRs nearly impossible.
2. Selecting "upgrade certificate" eligible fares on a round trip only to have one segment in an ineligible fare class--recent IT bug but annoying nonetheless.

There's 2 separate sets of changes that have been announced, "Starting Spring 2026" and "Later in 2026". I take the April 22 date to correspond with the former, not the latter.

But without the comma it completely changes the meaning.

I'm gonna out on a limb here and speculate, but I think it might have to do with the fact that the 2 remaining announced yet unbookable routes (SEA-LHR / SEA-FCO) are gated by pending Boeing 787 aircraft deliveries since those routes will use the new brand-agnostic livery and unlike SEA-NRT / SEA-ICN / SEA-KEF not fly on any existing aircraft. Thus the exact timeline could very well depend on Boeing's delivery timeline.

There is no such thing as "Brand Agnostic". Part 121 Carriers have to have the name of the operating airline on the outside of the aircraft. So while the tail might be the aurora, the side of the plane is gonna say Alaska.
In fact, once the single op cert is granted, I am pretty sure they have to put "Operated by Alaska Airlines" or similar verbiage on the outside of each of the Hawaiian planes as well.
