I haven't flown SN in a while but recently took them on a JFK-BRU flight (A330). Surprised to see how much 'cheaper' they are compared to the rest of the LHG airlines. The two biggest things for me were: 1) no pillow, only a paper thin blanket; 2) a very small water bottle provided after the meal vs the full size you get on LH/LX.
For a short flight like JFK-BRU I don't really mind it. Of course last time I took the SN A330 I was in business on my way to central Africa which was a far better experience.

Maintenance notice :
OO-SFD is back in BRU after being out of the schedule for more than 2 months. It's next rotation will be a FIH, then DLA - NSI triangle.
The aircraft was damaged in FNA in May.

I'm flying to JFK tomorrow and just noticed my flight is on 00-SFQ. According to the seat map this is yet another 2-2-2 configuration (as are 90% of my flights on this route unfortunately).
Does anyone know more about this specific plane? A quick google tells me this is old Lufthansa? So not great, but better than the Eurowings plane they usually use on this route?

SN issues tags for carryons for longhaul Y when you fly ex BRU to make sure you don't carryon too much. In business class no one cares.

9 of my last 10 BRU-JFK or JFK-BRU flights have been on ex-Eurowings and ex-Lufthansa planes. I might start giving Delta a shot. Almost always cheaper and the seat can't possibly be worse than what SN if currently flying on this route. Also, pretty tired of their cancellations on this route. My flight from 2 days ago was cancelled the day before, and this wasn't the first time unfortunately.
edit: to answer the question above - I've never had SN weigh my carry-on, not in economy, not in business.

Sure, cancellations stink. But at least with SN you are owed 600 euros comp regardless of whether you leg starts in EU or US because they're an EU-flagged carrier subject to EC261 on both ends. If you fly DL and they cancel JFK-BRU you're owed nothing.

Only seeing this now, but yes, there are frequent cancellations on SN501 and SN502. I didn't check the last few weeks, but a couple months ago they systematically cancelled around 1 flight per week on these routes.
