There are separate threads to discuss these benefits:
Oura Rings, Resy Dining, Lululemon Apparel, Uber, Back-to-Back Booking for FHR or THC Hotel Stays, and Reversal of Credits when Cancelling an FHR or THC Stay
AMEX (USA) personal Platinum refresh, $895 fee, September 2025.

1. It's possible that paying with points will trigger the credit but the better and more certain option would be to charge $300 to the card which will definitely trigger the credit and cover the remaining amount with points which is at a value of 1 cpp.
2. Existing reservations will not trigger the new $300 credit. You need to make a reservation starting today and prepay for $300 or more to get the credit. Any reservations prepaid prior to today should have triggered the old $200 credit if you hadn't already used it.

I'm happy with the additions and it offsets the $200 AF increase. The $5 extra dollars for entertainment covers my discounted Peacock premium subscription. Although I had to sign-up for the NYT this month to use the extra $5 and I'll cancel it next week, so my Peacock subscription is covered under the Amex next month, it's fine. Missed the Peacock charge by 1 day, so figured out that was a better way to utilize the remainder credit this month.
I'm surprised they reset everyone's FHR credits to $300 regardless if you used them or not. Not even the CSR did that for its users, they are rolling out perks next month to avoid those extra costs. Amex didn't penny pinch its new perks. I didn't use the 200, so I'm stuck with the new $300 credit, but I don't mind. Having 6 months to use $300 is a better option for those of us who do hotel status stays. Overall I'm very happy with the changes. Lululemon credits will be spent on mom since I don't wear that brand, but I read you can use the Lululemon sign-up bonus to get $40 dollar off the Oura rings. People are already figuring out how to maximize the savings. haha

(EDIT: I think I misinterpreted this, based on the replies. Disregard.)
Hm, now I am wondering if the Resy and Lululemon credits will actually be usable in Q3 and Q4, or just Q4. I noticed the amounts "to go" in the tracker suggest Q4 only.

- You can use Membership Rewards Pay with Points for all or part of your eligible prepaid hotel booking. However, you can only earn the $600 Hotel Credit for charges that are charged to your eligible Platinum Card, if you have not already earned the credit for the year. Any portion of your booking covered using Pay with Points does not qualify to receive up to $300 back semi-annually.

I never tried booking an FHR stay fully on points to see if it will still trigger the credit anyway because I find it to be a poor value of points at only 1 cpp redemption so therefore I would charge $200 to my card and have the remainder covered with points (poor value not-withstanding
), but I still think it's possible the credit would be triggered when covered fully with points. There's also a possibility of claw backs down the line for any credits received that are outside of Amex terms.

How are you getting that interpretation? The amount in the bar is the quarterly amount. There is a separate label right there for the total amount earned in the year.

I was also skeptical of the refresh and was already on the fence about keeping this card, but honestly... the way the new benefits are, it's making me think "where's the catch?" I've been able to use $200 a year in FHN - I may not use the full 600 organically, but still, let's say I only use $300, then I do use $200 for airline every year, I will use the full streaming organically, which now brings it up to $800... and I will definitely use $400 RESY because I have a bunch of mid-tier and even one cheap bar on Resy available. So no problem on that front. So even without the use of all benefits, I am coming out ahead, and me and my SO love using the lounges when we travel (only a few times a year) so this is a great refresh for a light user. Still makes me wonder - where is the catch?!

This is unbelievably good. I mean, wow, there is nothing here that is not to like. I was worried Resy would be monthly, but quarterly is just perfect. And 1/2/26 for a fee increase? Renewal date is 12/10 - perfect

Yeah, I mean I have no interest in the Oura ring (nor did I have an interest in Equinox) but the other new benefits, and expansion of existing ones, more than outweigh the $200 AF increase to me. The Plat is a keeper for sure.

I'm in the same boat. Made an FHR booking on the evening of 9/16, the charge officially posted today but was dated to 9/17. No credit issued yet, and I have no idea if posting on 9/17 means I will get the pre-refresh $200 and still have $300 left for last half of 2025, or if it will automatically use the $300 for the credit. Also, since I used some MR points for a portion and left only $200 of the charge remaining (total cost of $489-ish), I'm curious how much credit I will actually be issued if the latter scenario is the case. I'll report back when the dust settles.

Plastic Card!
I went to check out the new limited-edition mirror card and discovered that they are now offering a "85% recycled plastic" version as an option. I just might have to check that out. I've never been too fond of the metal card (too heavy, too smooth) and have asked CS in the past about a plastic card with no luck. Could be the best part of the refresh for me!
On a separate note, when I was going through the options, it had the option to update my son's platinum card. He has the free gold card. Is that benefit going away?
TIA
