Mrs CB who's booked in CW on a gold upgrade voucher from RUH -> LHR tomorrow morning just discovered she's been bumped up to F. Lucky girl, it's times like this where I like to remind her how much she hated BA prior to me introducing her to the benefits of FF membership! Second time she has got a F upgrade, I've only managed WTP to CW a number of times.

My parents were upgraded (at check-in) from WTP -> CW on the CVG (Cincinnati, Ohio) to LHR flight. Nothing was said by the agent. We did not notice it until we got to the lounge. One of my parents is BA silver and the other has no status. A very nice, unexpected surprise.

Very recently on LHR to LAS.
4 friends of mine on 2 separate bookings were upgraded from WTP to CW to 2 middle pairs a few rows apart. It happened within T5 about 4 hours before whilst waiting for their flight. It was long layover from MAN as their original domestic flight booking was cancelled hence a very long layover.
On refreshing their BP's group 1 (as below) saw a seat change and informed group 2 who did the same. Only 1 of that pair was initially upgraded but a very, very short time later the last one was upgraded too!!! I was really delighted for them.
2 separate bookings
Couple 1) Bronze/Blue
Couple 2) Blue and Blue! with one of them flying BA long haul for the very first time
It really made my day when I heard all this news so all you Blue's out there............ it can happen!! (albeit a slim chance as always of course!)

LHR-SIN. Comfortably cocooned in my club world seat, late in the boarding process a gentleman arrived looking very confused. "I think you're in my seat" he said, showing me a boarding pass for the exact same seat.
"That's weird" I responded, showing him my boarding pass for the same seat. Crew member arrived to adjudicate, and inform me that I was in the wrong...
...and my correct seat was 1F in First. Not something I felt any need to argue with.
It appeared that I benefited from an upgrade so late in the process, that I had already boarded when it was applied.
That's a hit rate of 3 out of 10 of my most recent long-haul flights. Possibly a combo of GGL and full-fare J tickets puts me high up the list.

Zero. Not even a rubbish run through the cabin or the Flying Start envelope, which me think it might have been a crewing issue. The required no of crew seemed to have been present though and I overheard issues with a catering supplier.

I've never had so much love from BA as since I stopped buying revenue tickets and only booking redemptions. This week on an On Business redemption flight LGW-FAO, upgraded at the gate. Even got seat 1A. Crew was pretty average to be honest but I'm not complaining. That's 4 op-up's this year. All on short-haul, all on redemptions. Not a single upgrade for at least 2 years prior.
