I am not in Vietnam, but I have logged in without issues from various European countries.
What message/error are you seeing?
Have you tried a VPN?

Yes - I was in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Doha for a month-long trip and just came back a few days ago. Alaskas website and app would randomly not load (how ironic when AS/HA flies to Japan but its own website wont load reliably there). Using my cell phone with AT&T roaming usually has a higher success rate. Using VPN also tends to work. Try clearing cache in your browsers as well. Once again, it is really random.

No Alaska Airlines (and many airlines) are blocking access from overseas. I have been unable to login from Hong Kong since a few months ago. I have to use a VPN to login now. Not to mention the website has little issues here and there for the past three months! I don't know if it is caused by their upcoming merger with Hawaiian. They are supposed to announce a new joint program next month.
For an airline who aims to fly international, it is weird to restrict access from Asia.

I have not tried VPN. I was trying to check if i could get last-minute business award tickets with JAL to return to USA. I saw some availability on AA but prefer to redeem AS miles if I could.

Website Geo-fenced?
Website is completely blocked from certain countries. Some functionality (booking) is also blocked on the mobile app for certain countries. Need to use a VPN to get in. Anybody else seeing this?

They have implemented a whatever shiny and glossy looking threat management solution.
It's also blocked in the US as they caught some AT&T subnets as well. - The whole time it was just Hawaiian, but AS now seems to have implemented this as well.

They must have a bunch of nitwits running their IT department. How many hackers don't have access to a VPN? They start international routes and their IT strategy is too block passengers from getting international access to their website. Total morons!

So even Microsoft seems to think this is a good idea...

Fully agreed, but to my surprise my corporate MS365 account has the same kind of protection, by default you cannot login from abroad (unless you request a travel exception for specific countries), and a VPN completely bypasses that as well
