I thought it was quite cute to give the jam filled doughnuts. Maybe a bit cryptic for younger readers.

Maybe knowledge of food rather than history. The "donuts" (shudder at the comparison ) are called Berliner in the area in and around Berlin (Pfannkuchen in other parts of Germany) and I'm sure there are more names in various other regions as well.

Kind of a fun reference and play on Kennedy's speech.

IC Chicago Magnificient Mile, USA

The House of Hades in residence at the IC Chicago MM.
1 RA, 2 adult sons, no female receptionist is immune to the charms of the House of Hades.
Which we were surprisingly were offered 9 drinks vouchers.

With the RA welcome amenity in the room:

8 vouchers,
of which the 9th was studied meticously by my kids to determine what to order as it is free .....

And off we went out.....

The House of Hades in action with the vouchers at Michael Jordan's steakhouse
No idea what's what as my kids did the drink order ....

And as we had leftover vouchers, onwards we went to

The House of Hades again in action at Casa Chi, yet forgot to snap a photo of the other drinks ....

Please not those vouchers are NOT valid at the Starbucks off the hotel lobby.
Although a healthy fruity welcome amenity, its effects are negated by copious amounts of alcohol.
The House of Hades is satisfied and not thirsty anymore

IC Budapest day#2, gift#2

Unsure whether this is a daily occurrence or a goodbye gift as we are only here for two sleeps. Lovely gesture, whichever. I must say, a bag of paprika and a wooden spoon is far more useful than the junk that ICs used to give out as a welcome gift. Remember that crap keyring from Singapore Bugis and branded golf balls from a number of different hotels that are of no use to me whatsoever.

Welcome amenity: calories
I just reached 101 kg and fitted back in a UA domestic F seat.
However macaroons get stale if you leave them out overnight so i ate them all at once while peering through my operaglasses observing the beauties of all kind working out at the gym across the street. Fortunately S/O trusts me enough that it's looking and not touching. Which cannot be said for the macoroons. They had no chance of survival.

Lovely that they remember my goal of visiting Met Cloisters.
And yes, i did decide lastminute to have to make an appearence at a musical , my name sake Hadestown. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadestown
While i'm more of heavy tragediess as Orestes & Electra, this interpretation of Orpheus & Eurdicye does make me curious.
