BA eStore Reversals Common or just me!?

Hi, I've recently started using the BA E-store to collect Avios. Has anyone managed to get points via online shopping at Sainsbury's?
I follow the instructions exactly as written on the BA Avios page (going into Sainsbury via the site, only using the one window/tab etc.) and while the visits are tracked, they never become "pending". I've been in touch with both BA and Sainsburys but neither wanted to help.
I've also just had pending points reversed for a purchase via GoCompare - my transaction was "rejected as the merchant reported that your last click for your purchase was not made via British Airways Avios eStore site but another marketing source" which makes absolutely no sense. BA say they are following this up as I queried it but I don't hold out much hope. Claiming Avios at M&S and John Lewis are the only two retailers that have worked for me so far, it's really frustrating!

I can’t help with the existing, very often spurious, “last click” messages, however my rate of receiving them has dropped since I started using a separate sterile browser just for referral sites.
I happen to use Firefox for referrals, using chrome for normal browsing. It’s completely stock, no ad-blockers or add ins. I reinstall it monthly. I only ever use it on referral sites. All internet history, cookies, everything is cleared for all time before heading to the referral site. I go directly to the referral site url not using google or similar to look it up. I accept all cookies on the referral site, disable tracking protection (shield on the address bar), click through to the actual store, then again accept all cookies from the store, again disabling tracking protection
My tracking rate has improved a lot. My experience of the retailers you mention is that M&S never tracks, but pays a on retro claim, Sainsburys never tracks.
Once a “last click” or similar message has been issued I have never been successful challenging it.

It is quite common, even when you follow the procedure to the letter with a clean browser and click only via the BA e-store. I suspect that retailers are responsible for some of the fun and games, especially for purchases that appear to track correctly but then get reversed. It sometimes irritates me enough to challenge it. Indeed, last week I successfully challenged a reversal of around 600 avios. I got a standard, but irrelevant, cut and paste response. One of my complaints was that it is actually hard to complain since the embedded 'contact us' link is broken on all my browsers. A second, more considered response credited me with 5,000 Avios. Even at 1p/Avios, that was more than my original purchase cost, so it pays to complain!

I have had many reversals over the years, often seemingly at least six months after the points have posted. Not once have I returned the item, added a discount code etc... just the standard "your order no longer meets the criteria" email. My solution has been to use topcashback. The payout is roughly equal to BAeStore if you value at Avios at a penny a pop, and, once withdrawn they can't claw it back.
Tracking indeed is not something safari will allow too easily now, so I default to Chrome for all the tracking nonsense.

I purchase a lot through Dell and Currys for work and they always track. I've had a few charge backs but then within a day they re-credit albeit at a slightly different rate, (always lower). Nothing too worry about but a loss of a few hundreds points each time. It didn't even seem to care if I came in through a 4 points offer on the Dell Business site yet bought Home laptops, (great when the Home site was only offering 1 point).
During the pandemic this really racked up the points for me and the points adjustments that I am getting these days didn't happen during the pandemic period. We are not a huge business but buying 2 screens for everyone to use at home along with the heap of laptops that seemed to "die" within weeks of everyone going home in 2020 meant a lot of points and a very curious UPS chap when he turned up with 20 monitors to my house. He was even more surprised when he turned up with another 20 the next day, (good job the third delivery was another driver).

I use Chrome (as I use Safari for my general browsing). I clear cache etc before starting. I only use desktop not the app. I do the initial transaction very quickly by adding dishwasher tablets roughly to what our shopping will cost and checkout. I then repeat the click from BA store, amend, check out process again a couple of times as quickly as possible. Then I click through again and do my shop (usually a few days later). I normally do a couple more quick check outs at the end.
Having said that quite a few orders get reversed, amended etc further down the line but they do track in the first place.

Just wondering if you transferred all your Avios to QR keeping your BA avios at 10 for example, what would happen when reversals happen? I don't know if this has been discussed up thread. I imagine that you would go into a minus balance and the moment you transferred them back to BA to redeem them or earned some, you would effectively lose them then. Generally speaking it doesn't annoy me too much but was very angry when a TV purchase from Richer Sounds was reversed almost 3 years after purchase!

Yes I have a decent track record of getting Sainsbury’s to track.

I presume you found the article through a web search.
The last post in the thread you replied to is 18 months ago, so they are unlikely to respond.
But stick around, there is a lot of other good stuff here

I had one just now, for IHG again.
Have no idea what it's for. Could be something from last week or six months ago. 18 Avios or 1200.
(possibly as I've used my Monzo or debit card that's had some 5-10% cashback offer?)
Going to start making a spreadsheet from next month to track these easily.

Quick question, with reversals, if there is an insufficent amount in my account, would it be taken from the pooled avios of my household account?

Seems to be a nice 15 Avios / on IHG hotels (Iberostar) at present, at least in my app.
Far better than the usual 3 or 6 if on promo.
Reversal wise, 1 or 2 this year. Possibly from double dipping or changing bookings.

No idea what seems to be going on with the new website but I have made several bookings with Marriott via the BA e-store and most of them have been tracked (yes I've double checked cookies and all, used different browsers too). One has been tracked and still waiting for the Avios to be credited.
