Focusing on the good: I like all three of the UCs at EWR. They have generally good views, and generally the best food and beverages of any US UCs. The only UC in the system that I frequent that I like more than the EWR clubs is LHR.
I also love the Manhattan views, particularly at sunset (which I seem to hit a lot SFO-EWR). I try to sit left side on inbound and right side outbound in case the runways are lined up right.

Strange one:
During a snow storm on the East Coast, SFO-EWR arrives 36 minutes early with only a ~2 minute wait for gate personnel.

Also very strange was pre-boarding in SFO:

Also very strange was pre-boarding in SFO:
- no wheelchair/people needing more time
- no military
- no GS
- no family with children
- only one 1K...me

Terminal C if you are coming in from an international flight with Domestic segment like NH820/6 to UA2055 there is a chance they will put your luggage first to be unloaded and then show up at the carousel.

I just clicked on this because I saw the title "Good EWR Experiences" and that the thread already had 3 pages. Imagine my shock and awe when I saw it was actually 3 pages of mostly good EWR experiences! Never saw that coming.

Before creating this thread I had to visit my psychologist to make sure I hadn't gone mental and am just as surprised as you are that my recent experiences have actually been pleasant.

Club agents rock!
UA club agent at EWR changed us to an earlier EWR to YYZ (international, obviously, but with checked bags). Manipulated things so we did not standby, just cleared right on. Agent was cordial, efficient and og, so knowledgeable.

Last year I missed a flight at EWR because the security machines went down / lost power (something that has happened multiple times to me now at EWR, but never anywhere else), so I had to be rebooked. Actually I missed it by just a couple of minutes; with my luck the flight's gate was quite a hike/run from the C checkpoint. The GA (of course) refused to assist with rebooking which forced me to go to the customer service desk, which (of course) was in another C pier, so I had to again walk the length of almost 2 of the piers to get there.
All the flights to my destination were Y0 for the rest of the day, but the agent at the CS desk made a call to get 1 Y seat released to rebook me on the next flight. I was just a UA gold. So that was nice.
To finish the story, of course the rebooked flight was delayed by about an hour.

I've told this story before: Almost 30 years ago girlfriend (since married 25 years) & I showed up for Continental flight EWR-LAX with economy tickets (we were poor grad students). Go to the gate & check in with the gate agent. She says, Oh! You are on tomorrow's flight! It was totally our mistake & we just showed up the wrong day. She says, Take a seat & we'll see what we can do. Turns out the flight was oversold in economy & people were flipping out at the agents, yelling & gesticulating, etc. We just sat there quietly waiting, boarding started, people were still freaking out. Finally after the plane had apparently fully boarded, the gate agent called us over, handed us two boarding passes, and thanked us for being patient & not joining the freakout. We looked at the BPs & they were for 1EF.

I had good experiences in the pmCO days with the UC bartenders who had stable enough employment that I got to know two of their names, and saw them frequently enough that tipping worked. One of them (Joe) suggested the best response to 9/11 would be to rebuild the two towers exactly as they were, as a big middle finger to those who were trying to bend the US to their will; I thought it was brilliant. In the past handful of years, I don't think I've seen the same UC bartender twice in EWR, and I've yet to see one that is committed to their work, but maybe I've just been unlucky.
These days, the best experience in EWR is making a connection without any hiccoughs. And that is damning with faint praise, indeed.

I have "known" several others for years, well before COVID.
