Meal pre-orders can be done 30 days to 72 hours before departure for flights departing from the major hubs to most(?) intercontinental destinations.

I suspect there are delays/issues with pre-orders at the moment. I'm flying YYZ->NRT->BKK in 3 weeks and haven't received the email to pre-order on my AC flight either, nor can I pre-order on the app/website.

We are flying YUL-BRU on 20 December and in the app it says meal pre-ordering for our flight opens in 3 days (so 10 days prior to departure)

Good catch. Ours says it opens in one day. We'll see if more choices are offered, in addition to rubber chicken, overcooked shrimps etc. (Assuming the standard menu remains the same as two days earlier.)

On YHZ to YYZ in 8 days, received meal preorder email 2 days ago so it looks like domestic J is sending emails say T-10 for eligible flights.
options were the same as they usually are.

I am flying the same route as you next week and received my pre meal order at 7 days. They usually don't offer the TPAC option until the menus are available online.

It would appear the standard is now 10 days.
Our flight is in ten days, later in the day. The app now says preordering opens later today, sme time as our flight in 10 days.

So, time has gone by. now within 1 days. No e-mail, and the app says:
"Pre-order open in
Check back soon to view your trip's menu ad select your meal before you fly."
Update:
This morning, no e-mail., but from the app we were directed to the menu choice page, and picked our main course.
There were five options to pick from. At this time, no menu yet for our date on aircanada.com, but for the last day where our flight shows, only four options.

Got our pre-order email today for our flight YUL-BRU. One question - it had more items than usual, and one the items (a beef satay), had a symbol next to it that we havent seen before - a hand holding a tray with a star on it. Its not the Hawksworth symbol that has been there forever, and there was no explanation on the selection page. Anyone have any idea what that one means (sorry for not providing a photo).

Booked in premium economy then get e-up at the gate to J
What happens to pre-ordered meal if ordered in Premium Economy and one is e-uped to Business at the gate from the waitlist an hour before departure ?
Do you get your pre-selected main meal but in J, or do you get to chose one of the options if available in J and just hope what you ordered in PY is still an option in J
