老乾杯 on TPE-SFO September 2024 Royal Laurel
For those keeping track of the news, you may have noticed an interesting addition to the menu for September's TPE-SFO flight:
The steak astounded me with a level of quality that I may have experienced in 老乾杯 itself. The A5-ness wasn't lost on the flight with an extraordinarily rich mouthfeel that you would expect dining on the ground in a teppanyaki in Japan. I'm surprised that they're able to serve this large of a cut in the air. If you see this on your menu and can tolerate proper A5 wagyu, then I would recommend this choice.

The Miyazaki A5 Steak

Not overcooked on a flight!

The Chicken Kamameshi, arguably better than at 老乾杯

This is the first time I have booked a ticket on a marketing carrier and the operating airline being BR. They told me that I could not pre book a meal though I am in business class and also their G. Is this correct?

It becomes available 21 days before your departure. At least, that's my experience.

The answer they gave me from BR BKK was that because I booked my ticket thru a marketing carrier ( first leg of BKK to TPE on TG ) and the second leg on BR though I cannot pre order my meals. That I have to book it on a BR ticket. There is no 21 days limit with mine.

I believe they're wrong, as I booked a SIN to TPE ticket via Air Canada for travel on EVA, and I was able to select my meal when managing my trip on the EVA site. However, to the other posts, it only was possible within 21 days prior to the flight.

I suspect the flight in question was TG codeshare and that could be the reason why op was not able to prebook meal.

Any thoughts on the following options for the SIN to TPE flight? Have currently selected "Baked Chilean Sea Bass Served with Sweet Potato Puree" but open to other options if they're good!
