(Sorry to jump in but Ill bite, gotta ask, that perverse pleasure thing, and of course many are familiar with how (many) doctors and (many) lawyers think and feel about each other.)
Guilty as charged of all allegations (as quoted) or only some? (Feel free to plead the 5th.)

There's even a shower in the lounge, located just next to the reception desk. Be sure to reserve a time with the front desk when you enter. The shower suite is beautiful and look like it might just be the single nicest shower in the airport. After all, it wins by default because it's the first shower available to travelers at DCA.

. That information is given on a need to know basis, and right now, you don't have a need to know

Visited the DCA Centurion Lounge a couple of weeks ago. Somewhat convenient going to the United gates (which I was) but inconvenient to most of AA's gates. Very attractive lounge with friendly and helpful staff. Not crowded at at 9:30am. Hot breakfast buffet roughly the quality of Hyatt House -tiny one bite muffins but full size chocolate croissants. Garlic scrambled eggs and chicken sausages, cut fruit and salad "stuff." Food not worth a detour-not the same quality as the early Centurion Lounges. Maybe evenings are better. But as a waiting area/lounge it's very comfortable.

Visited on a rainy Tuesday. Maybe 80% full at 5:30 and emptied out from there. The cocktail I had was great, the Virginia red less so. The food was pretty poor. There was a chickpea curry that was good but the chicken was dry and the pita bread stale. Those chefs should be embarrassed to put their name on that spread
My AA gate was all the way at the end of E and it was less than a 10 minute walk

I was there today and agree with most of your assessment, but I don't recall CL breakfast ever being better. What do you feel is missing? I thought the chicken sausages were well worth the walk to and from my AA arrival and departure gates (which I needed after eating so many of them).

Speaking of poor behavior...the number of people who looked at the signs and then just walked through as a shortcut to the bar anyways was a bit mindblowing. Asked the manager when she came to "check on me" (which was a nice touch I've only ever seen at SEA) and she said they've given up saying anything because so many people feel it doesn't apply to them.

I was just there the other day and didn't notice this area or shortcut. Is it that hallway to the left of the bar where the kitchen staff are constantly going in and out?

Same hallway, but if you're looking at the window with the bar on your right the staff are going down the hallway to your right. If you follow along the window it's at the other end of the buffet
