Three Weeks Later

Still the same. Everything looks fine according to Aeroplan and Cowtool, but not according to TK. Can't access my, later in the year, flights

The flight is not until January.
How much would the schedule have to change for TK to allow rebooking to -1 day?
Until January there is a high chance of schedule changes with TK. Expect major revision of schedule by mid/end Oct.

If you booked directly with TK , you should be able to rebook -7/+30 days with a schedule change of 15min or more. In the past even change of origin or destination within same zone was allowed, but that seems to have changed now. I would expect date change to be no issue. You should contact your local TK ticket office for rebooking (preferably by email).

If you booked with third party/OTA you are out luck as these in general will not rebook in case of schedule changes, unless the itinerary is messed up/impossible or MCT is no longer adhered to.

What is annoying with THY recently, they often ask (or even demand) passengers to check in hand luggage.

Which airport flight was this? Never happened to me so far. Were you carrying more than one carry ons?

Happened to me at MAD. I had a backpack (with a laptop) and a small suitcase. With full-service airlines I'm able to bring both to the cabin with no issues, but that was not the case with TK.

I'm hoping this doesn't repeat itself at IST when I fly back on Friday, but I'm not confident.

IST, and it happens often, unfortunately. Of course, they try to pick as many carry-ons, as possible.

Usually on IST-GYD flights, as passengers have a lot of duty-free bags with them.

Hi FTers,

Two quick questions, if I may: if my first ever flight as a Miles&Smiles member (earning 27000 miles) occurs in October 2024, but I hit 40,000 miles with a second flight in Aug 2025,

1. how long will my Elite status last starting from Aug 2025; and

2. when will my renewal period begin and end?

Thank you!

Hi,
I had 1 ticket purchased when M&S 3x Miles for all Business Class promotion was on (around mid feb-mid march).
Now I got only miles of the outbound flight accredited.
Could this be as it was a multicity itinerary (FCO-IST-UBN; UBN-IST-BRE)?
thank you.

when was your flight and when were your flight's miles credited ? bonus miles are credited around 10 days after travel date. they don't post with the regular miles.
It took a while for my bonus miles to show up - but then with a bonus surprise 🤪

The return flight was on June, 30th. I guess it is late for the surprise.. :-)
Promotional miles for the outbound flight (JUne 23th) were immediately posted (less than 24 hours..!)

What is the chance to get compensation for delayed baggage? Once, many years ago, I got some amount in similar case, but after pandemic, it seems that THY ceased payment of compensations.

What do you mean? Reimbursement of expenses incurred? - or compensation (for the inconvenience but no actual loss incurred)? The first might be possible if you have receipts etc (or even better seek reimbursement from you travel insurance). The latter: Forget it/this is not the way it works.

Second option: my son's suitcase arrived next day, so we went back to the airport to pick it up

I made official inquiry, let's see. Many years ago, it worked.
