That'll not fly! (sorry, couldn't resist the pun)

Seems like it now - or it might be a variation between the app and the website. Rather difficult to have confidence in LH for many reasons :-/

Well, that doesn't sound like a lack of 747 pilots then. Unless they have odd training issues where pilots can only (re)qualify on the 744 and not the 748 due to lack of sims or whatever.

Makes me a bit worried about my PVG-FRA in F next week. That's a paid but very cheap ticket, so 75% downgrade compensation wouldn't be a lot of money for enduring LH C..

Surely not given Carsten Spohrs HON circle service pledge, never mind being contrary to EU261..

FYI: LH 454 (FRA-SFO) cancelled until 24 March at least, per lh.com

The B744 crews are all in B789 training in preparation for the delivery of 7 more B789 this year, the B748 crews are stretched too. They should be back for the S24 schedule starting April.

Sounds like extremely poor planning, SFO cancellations were last minute, not pre planned

So, we were supposed to fly on LH454 on Sunday, 24 March and just received a cancellation notice. LH says absolutely nothing is available that day on any airline or partner to get us from FRA to SFO. The bigger problem is that we have three people traveling on 2 PNRs in PE and they rebooked us on different flights. My son, who is 22 and has mild Asperger's was rebooked on a flight via ORD on Sunday and we were re-booked on Monday through Munich. After 30 minutes on the phone we weren't able to find anything suitable for the three of us to fly together so the agent suggested sorting this out at the airport in FRA when we fly the first leg from Croatia to Frankfurt on Saturday. He said the airport has more flexibility than reservations to sort this out. All he did was put a note in both PNRs to alert the eventual airport staff to try to help.

What are our options? What help can we expect in Frankfurt and where should we go to get it (service center, lounge (I'm SEN), ticketing counter)? Since they booked us on Monday, I assume they owe us duty of care (i.e. hotel and meals) for Sunday night. How do we go about getting this (vouchers or should we make reservations and then claim back)? I also assume that compensation will be forthcoming since this is a pilot shortage not a strike. So that will take the sting off this a bit.

Would really appreciate some advice. If we accept a cancelation and then re-book on our own, I assume we lose all rights to offset any price increase?

HELP! :-)

Do your own search for 3 pax together & call the SEN line back, make sure you call DE, select German they all speak English, remind them of EU261, you are eligible for last minute compensation & full duty of care always, at FRA they should give you vouchers

The response I got was 'I have no training on EC reg 261 and can't comment on that'. That explains a lot
