LHR T2 lounge?

I'm a OW Emerald travelling Y on a BA codeshare with LX. Is there a lounge I can use at LHR T2? I know BA doesn't have one there, but IB does. Can I use the IB lounge, or has BA organised lounge access with LX?

For lounge access rights you have to be travelling on a flight which is both marketed by and operated by a OW carrier. Until LX is a OW carrier, then you have no access rights

From OW Alliance website

"1 All oneworld benefits are available only to passengers on scheduled flights that are both operated and marketed by a oneworld member airline. (Marketed means that there must be a oneworld member airline flight number on your ticket.) Benefits may vary by carrier. All information contained herein is subject to change without further notice. Suggest you ask the check-in agent nicely for a pass. Frankly, if they say "no", you're not missing much

If you have lots of time, you could try using the BA T1 lounge and see if they will let you in. T1 and T2 are really a single complex and there is a connecting bridge so you don't have to go landside between them. Just make sure you have plenty of time to get to your gate and remember that there won't be T2 flight information in the T1 lounge.

Thanks for the prompt replies, thought I'd share an update with you. Just spoke to Swiss, who referred me on to Servisair, whose lounge it uses at T2.

According to Servisair, they DO honour OW Emerald/Sapphire, irrespective of class being flown, IF i) the ticket carries a BA flight number on LX and ii) the ticket is issued on BA stock.

You can get in the Servisair lounge anyway simply by paying at the door (it was GBP16.50 last time I looked). Servisair operate similar lounges in T1 and T3 (same principle as the Holideck in T4, but not nearly as nice).

Wow! You'd really have to hit the schnapps hard to get value from that in T2. No computers, no showers; even no loos within the lounge complex....

As you know, what you're told and what actually happens can be two very different things; so an update...

LX efficient as usual but disinterested in OW status at check-in; FF info entered efficiently.

IB lounge had received a directive from Jaime Rae (Head of UK Operations) stating that no pax travelling on the BA/LX CS should be admitted until BA agreed to reciprocity over fees for lounge usage (fair enough methinks, though the door dragon was deeply unpleasant).

Serviceair lounge at LHR T2: checked boarding pass, checked OW status; no problem (though a pretty grim lounge).

BA at GVA: Lounge dragon said no way, but did offer to walk us to the LX lounge where (sensibly) the LX lounge dragon also said no way.

Fast forward to access to the BA lounge at GVA, eventually, and reluctantly, granted by the duty manager in view of a complete absence of hard and fast directive from ops in London.

By the way, I gather LX is to become a fully-fledged OW member on 1 Apr 2004 (no significance in the date, I'm assured).

Yes. Can't say how, but it appeared to work, on this occasion.
