The difference for EK was mainly that it wasn't a one-off/infrequent change. EK operated a worse cabin (with angled rather than flat beds) on a route that they advertised prominently with their flagship business product. I think BA would get away with the change away from Club Suites based on operational requirements/airframe swaps as they aren't advertising as Club Suite and only operating as old CW which is essentially what EK did do.
