I primarily use UA/*A benefits for international flights ex-EWR/IAD to help my two other traveling companions.
I'd originally contemplated switching to DL (even added a DL Biz Plat) considering Amex+DL's relative strength in NYC and ease of qualification. Obviously not worth considering now of course.

AA elites also get 1 LP/$ on Hyatt stays just from the AA/Hyatt partnership.

My guess for 2015 UA requirements

UA Silver for 2024: 12 PQF and 4,000 PQP or 5,000 PQP; DL Silver, 6000 MQDs; UA for 2015 qualification: 12 PQF and 5000 PQP or 6000 PQP.png)

UA Gold for 2024: 24 PQF and 8,000 PQP or 10,000 PQP; DL Gold: 12,000 MQDs; UA for 2015 qualification: 24 PQF, 10,000 PQP or 12,000 PQP..png)

UA Platinum for 2024: 36 PQF and 12,000 PQP or 15,000 PQP; DL Platinum: 18,000 MQD; UA for 2015 qualification: 36 PQF and 15,000 PQP or 18,000 PQP.png)

UA 1K for 2024: 54 PQF and 18,000 PQP or 24,000 PQP; DL Diamond, 36,000 MQDs; UA for 2015 qualification: 54 PQF and 22,000 PQPs or 30,000 PQP

Just a quick reminder that UA offered a PQP bonus to everyone who currently had status this year. They could make a fairly significant increase in their requirements simply by not doing so in 2024.

Question on whether having a card is enough or if they will try to driving card spending when seeking elite status by upping thresholds and making earning PQPs with the credit cards easier (more PQPs for spend, higher or no cap). If we are to believe that they will mimic DL, then it'll be the latter.

UA will raise and stay slightly shy of what DL is asking. My 2 cents. We'll see

While knowing what UA's competitor DL will require for status in 2025 is an important piece of data, we don't have the information needed to predict with any accuracy what UA will do.
I have made many bold predictions in the past and have been wrong every single time. Maybe DL just wants to cull the herd for real this time.
If UA decides to reduce the cohort of top status fliers, then we know what they could do. What I hope they do is nothing even though as a MM my fallback Gold status may suddenly seem more special.

My feeling is United would be better off both increasing the PQP earn rate to drive more spend and increasing the qualification thresholds to something in between what AA and Delta is now. People are up in arms about Delta's 35k level. United could position themselves well to snipe former Diamonds from Delta by making theirs around 25-28k while making it a bit easier to earn PQP from credit cards, assuming they want them.

My guess is UA goes PQP only, with rates that fall between AA and DL.
The wild card will be whether card PQP earning rates improve or increase from the current levels.

Will UA change MP in response to DL's changes?
I know there is a separate thread about welcoming Delta to UA - but it got me wondering if UA is due for another major change (or changes) to their program in response to what appears to be a major overhaul of DL's program?
... and what that might look like?
... or what people would like to see changed?

not just a typical devaluation - but maybe structural changes..... like re-vamping the PP program?
revising the MM program (adding a few perks to that would be nice as I am getting closer?)

I'd like to see higher thresholds, but 1 PQP for every 10 dollars spent on the club card
Maybe 6/12/18/27K PQP for the various tiers
