Sadly the new lounge was very crowded when we visited on Wednesday.
It probably didnt help several longhauls were delayed or cancelled.
Everything else is top notch in the new lounge, quality of food excellent, just wish they had more space. We had to wait for a seat to free up, and people had to camp on the floor or window sill.

This is my first time in Polonez in the morning (I am usually here in the afternoon going to/from ORD), and I must say in the middle of the week, it is pleasantly quiet. Almost like a library.
I also spent the night for the first time in the Courtyard across the street, which I found quite acceptable, and at a price of 325zł, not offensive to my normal sense of budget. It is difficult to find a more convenient airport hotel.

Polonez tends to be quiet during mid-August on weekdays. Biz travel is at a minimum. I'd be surprised if Mazurek is packed to the rafters right now.

This was my first visit to Mazurek. As another visitor noted, it definitely has a bit of an IKEA look. OTOH, it is nice and new, and is definitely a step above Bolero.
Is the catering in Maurek the same as Polonez? Seems very similar.

My first visit to Mazurek today.
Having read about how cramped and busy it is, I am pleasantly suprised. 6:30/7:00am its about half full.
In response to the comment above about the catering, yes it is the same, they have the same menu on display.

Is there any restriction in terms of how early one can access the lounge? I seem to remember reading something (3 hours before the flight?) in one of the threads here but can't recall exactly where/what. I'm booked on the 2:40PM flight back to Sarajevo later this week and thought of heading to the airport at roughly 10AM in order to get some work done and grab some food as well (rather than starting work in the hotel and having to log-off in the middle of the working day to travel to the airport).
Thanks.

Mazurek is normally quiet(ish) mid-morning/lunch time so I'll probably clear passports and leave the crawl for another day. Or perhaps I should also make the most of Polonez, "in spirit of farewell", as we approach the last few days of LOT operations at Sarajevo (on a side note, merely the thought of having to go through Frankfurt again makes me sick to the core...).

Contract lounges often enforce the 3 hour limit, but it's rare in hub lounges. After all they are often used for transit where the connection time might be long. Same day was never an issue for me. Occasionally I've entered, then left for a couple of hours, and entered again without issue.

I've never been 3hrs in KRK however I was forced to wait 5-10 mins outside for a place a few weeks ago. For some reason the Non-Schengen lounge is closed again so all the entry-level BArb pax were clogging the place up. That was the first time in years and hundreds of departures. Quite interesting that the funds from BArbs coffers do not incentivise them to open the NS lounge.

I wish I had stayed at the hotel this morning: lounge fairly busy but that's not really the issue when the vast majority of the guests are loudly discussing business on telephone/Teams/Zoom/you name it, all in a relatively small space which is Mazurek... Plus, the chap next to me is blatantly and awkwardly on loudspeaker (his headphones are on the table, really bizarre...). Rant off, deep breath.

Ive just parked myself at Mazurek (particularly busy today) and noticed another great addition to the wine family, namely Cabernet Sauvignon de Purcari (red) on top of the Chardonnay de Purcari (white). Im just consuming a glass of the latter together with some delicious salmon fillet, along with tender octopus and asparagus. Now, if only LOT would maintain the Sarajevo service all-year-round

Hi,
We will be flying EWR-WAW-TLV on LOT business early next month. We will have a layover of nearly 10 hours (13:15 to 23:00) and plan on visiting the city. We will be back at the airport in the evening. A few questions:
1. Can we visit more than one lounge?
2. How much time should we allow for passport control and reaching the gate at around 22:00 if we stay at Polonez/Elite?
3. How do Polonez/Elie and Mazurek compare with respect to:

- Food and drinks availability in the evening.
- Showers.
- Quiet zone.
