Lufthansa IT Woes

Hello All,

I wanted to understand if the issues that i'm facing are only for me.

1. When logged into the Lufthansa app, my flights show cancelled. From my computer, the flights show confirmed. I even tried to log out and in to the app, but still showing the flights cancelled. How can we get full confirmation that all is well?

2. When viewing my itinerary on the computer, it has a hyperlink saying "Seatmap". When clicked, it is showing me the seatmap with the date being 1 day before my confirmed flight date. Why would it show me the seatmap for the day prior to my scheduled departure?

Is there a "source of truth" that my flights are confirmed and on the correct dates? Its unnerving to see discrepancies like this.

Thank you.

LH IT is notoriously bad, it’s easy to see if the flights are operating by trying a dummy booking or close in on Flight radar 24, if sold out.

You have not told us your class of travel but:
LH425 BOS-MUC on 21 Dec and LH761 DEL-FRA on 4 Jan appear to be very full and depending on the class of travel its not possible to book on these flights. I tried a dummy booking on LH425 and could book a business seat but not economy. On LH761 I could book an economy seat but not business. However, It looks like all flights are operating.

I think the LH app is very buggy. More so than the website.

Speaking of LH app I stupidly downloaded Lufthansa beta app. When I tried to check in for a flight for tomorrow I got stuck when the app started asking me for entry documents for Germany. I haves entered (only transited in) Germany since Brexit but I shouldnt need any. Fortunately I still have the non-beta version of the app on my iPad so I was able to check and found I was already checked in. Has anyone else downloaded Lufthansa beta app?

Angry

Be careful with the auto rebooking. The last few days, the system sometimes provides options that are not compliant with LH's own rebooking rules. If so, you can select them, but ticketing fails and the existing as well as the new segments are simply cancelled.
I speak from experience (and I didn't use a beta version)

One interesting thing I noticed, is that it offers many more options for rebooking in the event of a schedule change! I had an award WRO-FRA-HND trip in F that was affected by a major schedule change and was technically able to select a WRO-FRA-LHR-HND (I've never flown ANA suites) routing with timing that suits me better (even with the extra connection, I'm able to take the 14:50 WRO-FRA flight as opposed to the 10:55 flight).

Granted, I'm highly doubtful that the change will stick.. but interestingly the booking is showing as confirmed on ANA's website and I could even select seats.

thanks for the heads up- probably makes sense to call the F/HON circle line tomorrow to clear it up.

Rebooking on NH is no issue per LH policy. I see no reason why it wouldn't stick. But be cautious if the world's best IT offers an option outside LH Group/UA/AC/NH

I foolishly thought rebooking policy was improved overnight and got burned.
