That's better than the alternative, which is people cutting each other and not letting the forward rows out.

How about this; when travelling solo, sitting in an exit aisle seat and the bell dings, I stand up and get my bag out of the overhead. If the aisle ahead of me is empty as multiple rows still haven't even stood up, is it bad form to start walking foward until you get to folks in the aisle?

Sitting now in a Row 4 window. Pretty remarkable, only made possible because a couple was already seated aisle-middle and I guess everyone else in front of me wanted to hunt for something better.

One more thing I learned is the "extras bucket" at the end of A. A gaggle of about 8 random people were able to board after A but before B when she called something like "A-list, preferred, and anyone else with an A boarding pass without a number."
I call it the A61 boarding position. A-list with B or C, active military with ID, and family boarding. Like you said, that will bump B1 further down. The other bucket is A0 AKA preboard + 1 companion.

Another factor is very few A-list do standby anymore, who often have to wait until the end of the Cs to find out if they get on. Now they are part of A61 with a same day change. I sat in a lot of middle seats because of standby. Not anymore.

5:05a flight STL-ATL. So there is no previous connecting flight from any city.
Checked in exactly 24 hours in advance. Position: B-19.................
It may even be worse if there are folks who qualify for pre-boarding. Like families with infants, those in wheelchairs, my wife with her cane, etc.
jmw beat me to it.

My wife and I used EBCI for a 6:20 AM flight from ATL to DAL receiving A50 and A51 which isnt much better than your B19 boarding. A1 - A15 was less than 10.

I have been as low as B-25 as a A-lister. Just last week. It happens.

This is probably a case of the origination city - ATLANTA. With Delta just about owning traffic in and out of there, far less business folks will use SWA and therefore far less A Listers than many other cities.

Disagree. That's quite a bit better.

It's really not though. This kind of stuff happens all the time. My last trip on WN I was B2 and could have had an exit row window if I wanted.

Probability for EBCI in the B group is very likely on the same flight.

Correct but it proves many people are buying EBCI pushing actual check in online to the B group.

Maybe. It's hard to say where you are in the EBCI line, but yes, I am sure it is not uncommon.
