Has anybody had the SUB post yet?
Is the $200 vacation credit a temporary thing that will go away? If yes what date? Atm all my spend is tied up in a biz plat MSR but this is a 6 month MSR so might apply for it before I finish with biz plat if the $200 credit is going away.
Is there any DP's yet on triggering the $200 dollar credit by purchasing a gift card from airbnb, hotels.com, or similar?

C1 application process (all cards)
DP: I'm at 5/24 (most recent card opened < 1 month ago). I also have an old C1 mastercard (non-venture). 765 credit score, sufficient income. Was declined, no reason provided. I have a suspicion this was due to my low utilization (I prepay my cards to keep utilization low) and the fact that I don't carry a balance.
Anyone have experience with the reconsideration process?

I was approved and am waiting for my cards to arrive. FedEx says they’ll arrive tomorrow.
I have an overseas flight in a week-and-a-half. I’m seeing that AU’s card may not be recognised to signup for PP until a week or so after card arrival. If AU’s card isn’t recognised by PP signup before our trip, will she still be able to get into lounges and use PP restaurant credits?
I don’t think it will be a problem, but just being neurotic: Will we be fine accessing PP lounges and restaurant credits even though our trip was booked with cards other than Venture X?

I've applied today and got declined. My wife applied right after I did and got approved. They emailed me the link to access the decision letter and see the reason they declined the application later today.

The length is 14 years or so, but I don't see this as a big issue considering an excellent credit score and good income. My wife has a bit better credit score (~840 vs. 810) and a slightly lower income.

I applied for the C1 V1 right after Christmas because of the 40K offer for $1K spend that I thought was the best they have offered on that card. Approval was pended and I did eventually get the approved $30K c/l but the APR is terrible. I don't really care as I don't carry anyway. But it is 0$ for 15 months on purchases not b/t. So I will take advantage of that and pile all my charges on that card and ride them for the 15.
Now I am wondering if I made the right decision and should I have went with the X instead. If I should have gone for the X and didn't, what are my options now? I know the 5/24 with Chase, but I have only heard of some once every so and so for C1 which I think is one card a year, but I am not sure. I hate their pull every bureau policy and with me, they even pulled twice for the same inquiry which just loaded up my inquiries.
Thoughts, speculations, and advice appreciated. This is such a first world problem, if you choose to ignore, I understand. But maybe someone on here with lots of experience will know the answers.

I believe he is referring to "Manufactured Spend". So with this card, you need to spend 10K. If you don't have that much stuff to buy, you have a problem. MS is when you buy stuff that you can convert to cash. Sort of like Money Laundering but legal. Now in this case, technically you can just spend 10K and refund it all and it will still count. MS is mostly for the cash back or points. You can see how repeating this cycle over and over again with many credit card offers can earn you tons of points at little cost.
For example, upthread, there was a reference of returning flights. You might buy a bunch of flights, then cancel them. Your money will be stuck with the airline in the form of credits but if you fly alot, maybe it's not a big deal. Similar to buying lots of gift cards.
The really good MS people can actually convert them back to cash. For example, buying gift cards that can be converted to cash. This is becoming more and more rare and credit card companies are cracking down. I'm no expert.
There's a whole forum on MS.
I think his warning is that you do it at your own risk. Never spend more than you can afford (for example if after buying the gift card, something changes and you get stuck with them)

I tried applying today but got the "we’ll be in touch shortly" message. How long does it typically take to get a decision? This is the first time I've ever not gotten instant approval on a card.

Just to report back, I got a call today (a day later) from their application fraud department. I guess my application triggered something. I had to scan my drivers license for them and then they instantly approved me for 30K. Now just waiting for the actual card to show up. I have an old web account but no active cards.
