Does anyone know of any 2021 Centurion Business cards that have been approved this year ? I've been pushing my rep about getting one but he claims they arent issuing them due to covid. I think its complete BS. Spending anywhere from 750K-2.5M a month on Plum and BP.

My spend never drops below 750K a month and certain months I spend quite a bit more. I'd wager roughly 10-15M yearly. Been with amex since 2015. Only have been spending those amounts since January 2020 but its been very consistent since then. I've been through UW twice now and have gotten a large increase 2 months ago in spending ability.
My spend is largely mundane on the Business cards but I do quite a bit of luxury travel on the personal side of amex cards.
Trying to gauge how much BS my rep is feeding me as I've heard chatter of other people getting approved on the business side this year.

Invite accepted
I just received the business centurion invite in July 2021. I spent roughly 9M through all of my business cards and 35M through FXIP wiring program for business in a 12 month period. I dont think my card spend alone would have qualified me for centurion card but the FXIP spend definitely got me on their radar. The spending requirements have become astronomical these days to get a business centurion invite.

just curious, why do you want a business centurion when you already have a personal centurion?

Business Centurion has an important benefit Personal does not. You can effectively buy air travel a 2 cents/point using AMEX Travel. If you accumulate a lot of points, this is a good benefit. There used to be other distinctions (Business Centurion used to have unlimited GoGo Internet on flights, but, sadly, this was discontinued).

Got ya. What other differences are there between the personal and business centurion?

It was quite interesting that we did a one year evaluation from June 1st 2020 to May 2021. My local Amex business rep told me that there was 2 ways to get a business centurion. You could get an invite via total card spend or fxip spend. She told me I didnt have a shot in hell to get it through my card spend as it was under 10M in a 12 month period. Instead, she said I had a much better chance with FXIP so we started using that service in June 2020 and once I hit my 1 year anniversary with that, the centurion committee sent my rep a notice that I got the invite and she forwarded me the email and I followed up with a phone call.

For clarification, how long were you a cardmember, and what was your average prior spending? Did you start to use FXIP as a way to get an invite?

Just got a biz cent offer, and I'm pretty sure that me switching from Amex to the new Spark Business cash plus triggered it. I've had a normal "business" spark for years with 2% cash back across the board, but it was pretty much worthless to me with a $100,000 limit because my PO's are usually above that. Spark plus came in at a starting CL of "no pre-set spending" and I've called in twice for $550k purchases and I was approved for both.
With $8m spend a year, I'll take that $160,000 cash back and not even think about accepting a cent invite. Hell, I have a lifetime of MR points banked.
Anyway, move your spending somewhere else, and see what happens.

Thank you!
I have been a business card member since 2015 and a personal card member since 2011. My spend was very minimal with my personal card. For my business card in 2015 my spend was probably around 1M.
2016: 2M
2017: 3M
2018: 3.5M
2019: 4M
2020: 9M
My representative told me that using FXIP would potentially help me get the business centurion card, but could no way guarantee me getting the invite. Once the FXIP program really started to take off, it became clear by Q1 of 2021, we had a good indication that maybe I had a really great chance because my spend was so high with FXIP. Ultimately, I have to believe it was the FXIP that got me the invite. Without it, I would not have received it.

My guess is that you got your invite because of spend. I do think Amex has a $10M spend but I believe they expanded the 12 month time frame as several people reported getting a Bus invite without the 10M/12 month spend.

I'm curious if anyone has any current guidance on spend thresholds for US Centurion personal eligibility? I'm debating whether to move some spend around.
