MileagePlus has some great upgrade promotions for members traveling this summer. Whether you’re a member with miles or a 1K member with PlusPoints, both promotions grow access for members to the premium cabin. The below enhancements and promotions are already live, and will be in effect for departures through September 15, 2021.

Skip Waitlist: Skip Waitlist is a great way for Premier 1K members to use their PlusPoints balances before they expire to confirm a Polaris business seat at the price of an economy fare. With Skip Waitlist, 1K members can book confirmed upgrades when upgrades would otherwise be unavailable and only on waitlist. For a limited time, Skip Waitlist prices are as low as:

• 100 PlusPoints for upgrades from Economy to Polaris Business.
• 70 PlusPoints for upgrades for Premium Plus to Polaris Business.
• 50 PlusPoints for upgrades from Economy to Premium Plus.

1. To give customers more access to premium cabin upgrades for last minute trips, we extended the offer to allow members access to make Skip Waitlist requests up until 14 days of departure.
2. Prior to this change, requests were not available within 30 days of departure.
3. With prices this low, many 1K members may be able to find Skip Waitlist upgrades for themselves and a companion to Polaris Business for themselves and a companion when creating a new booking or checking for upgrade availability on their already booked itinerary.
4. This is our largest expansion of Skip Waitlist since its introduction in January 2020, and now includes select flights in destinations like Barcelona, Dubrovnik, Athens, Paris, Iceland, and Tahiti.

Mileage Upgrade Awards: We’re also making a few enhancements to give members with miles more access to premium cabin seats this summer. We’re reducing the co-pay fee on MileagePlus Upgrade Awards for flights to Europe and we’re also expanding availability of confirmed premium cabin awards.

• For the first time in over a decade, we’re offering a 25% discount on the co-pay for Mileage Upgrade Award requests for United flights flying to Europe this summer.
• We have also made it easier for members to enjoy premium cabins by increasing the availability for our lowest priced premium cabin awards by 15%.
