Chase to open its first airport lounge (BOS, 2022)
https://thepointsguy.com/news/chase-...irport-lounge/
According to TPG, Chase will be opening its first branded lounge at Boston Logan International Airport in 2022.
Hopefully, the food will be as good as AMEX Centurion Lounge. I fly in and out of BOS often so this could be good news for me.

It looks like they are operating through Airport Dimensions, who runs "The Club." IMO those are sub par compared to the Admirals Club, which I consider also inferior to the Centurion Lounge, so out the gate I am not seeing a huge competitive advantage to the AMEX Plat. Plus AMEX has a leg up in terms of footprint, but Airport Dimensions has 28 lounges, some with multiple locations in the same airport (i.e. DFW, MCO, etc) so we'll have to see if some turn into Sapphire lounges.

IME, "The Club"s are typically much better than Admirals Clubs, even pre-Covid Admirals Clubs. Clearly, CLs are superior to both.

I consider not just FNB but space. At DFW, at the AC I can always find a seat, The Club in D felt crammed and dingy compared to the AC. Perhaps it was different pre-covid, but I found the bland oatmeal, whole fruit, toast offerings to match ACs. Also note the header image in the TPG article with the hanging outlet - that seems to match the overall aesthetic of The Club - started nice but has some loose ends that haven't been kept up along the way.

Note that the lounge operator Airport Dimensions https://www.airportdimensions.com/en/about-us is owned by the same company as Priority Pass. I expect that Priority Pass acceptance is baked into the Airport Dimensions contract with Chase.

will be located in the currently under-construction Terminal B to C connector at Logan.
I fear the temporarily closed lounge in JetBlue terminal C will become obsolete.

That one is used by a few international airlines (I believe Emirates and Aer Lingus?) for their premium passengers (and Ill note that pre-pandemic there was frequently a waitlist for Priority Pass holders), so once travel picks up again, the revenue stream from those sources may justify opening it again.

Would this only be open to CSR holders or would CSP/CS (no AF) holders be eligible to visit as well?

Since this will be branded as a Chase Sapphire lounge, could it be possible that the food and lounge itself will be at Centurion Lounge level? I would imagine that it'll only allow Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders to access for free? I hope this will be a first-tier lounge capable of competing with the best AMEX Centurion Lounge anywhere in the world.

The feedback here is a lot more negative than I would have thought. I, for one, applaud more choice in a space that a year ago, I expected to shrink. Is The Club perfect? No. Do I go there if I can? Almost every time. This also doesn't mean it has a to be a mirror image of the club.
It will be very interesting to see what happens. With the rumored changes, AMEX is supposed to raise their AF and limit guests. I assume Centurion will continue to be the "premium choice." However, if the Chase lounge is even a small step-up from the Club, and has a big enough footprint, that could be quite the game-changer for many people.
