What are "Marriott Bonus Bucks"?

I was recently looking at a booking for next year, and came across this new (to me) rate description for a room at the RI DC Capitol:
  • MARRIOTT REWARDS MEMBERS EXCLUSIVE OFFER
  • PLEASE SEE THE WEBSITE - MYTIMEATMARRIOTT.COM FOR DETAILS
  • RATE INCLUDES 50 BONUS BUCKS FOR A 2 NIGHT STAY OR
  • 25 BONUS BUCKS FOR A 1 NIGHT STAY
  • BONUS BUCKS MAY BE USED TOWARDS A FUTURE STAY
  • RATE IS BASED ON AVAILABILITY
  • BLACKOUT DATES AND OTHER RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY
The url for the web site noted above never loads at my end. Has anyone else ever come across a rate with these "Bonus Bucks" before?

I believe it was a promo run years ago. Haven't heard that term in years.

Haven't seen them in about ten years. Used to have Premium Pounds in UK also.

So are these Bonus Bucks a real thing, or some vestige or figment of Marriott's IT snafu? Perhaps my booking query triggered a time warp into some defunct part of the Marriott database that has been lying dormant until now? With the url suggested for more info inactive, I'm wondering whether these bonus bucks would turn out to be ephemeral?

Oh man... those were awesome! BBs combined with the BOGO Certs that were given out to Plats created some amazing values.

Now I am all sentimental....

Ahhh yes, the EEO certs. Aren't we still awaiting their return per Marriott Concierge?

So from what people have posted so far, I can only assume that Bonus Bucks used to be a thing, but that they are not making a comeback. I can't believe that no one else would have received them,or seen some publicity on them, and posted about it if this was a live program. The url quoted in that rate description I posted would not be dead if these bonus bucks were real.

I'm not going to book the room, because I found that the Capital Hilton was available for about 35% less, so I guess we'll never know for sure.
