What are "Marriott Bonus Bucks"?
I was recently looking at a booking for next year, and came across this new (to me) rate description for a room at the RI DC Capitol:

I believe it was a promo run years ago. Haven't heard that term in years.
|
Haven't seen them in about ten years. Used to have Premium Pounds in UK also.

The old Marriott Bonus Bucks thread: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marr...d-threads.html

Oh man... those were awesome! BBs combined with the BOGO Certs that were given out to Plats created some amazing values.
Now I am all sentimental.... |

This one brings back fond memories. Bonus Bucks were a great deal for sure. |

So from what people have posted so far, I can only assume that Bonus Bucks used to be a thing, but that they are not making a comeback. I can't believe that no one else would have received them,or seen some publicity on them, and posted about it if this was a live program. The url quoted in that rate description I posted would not be dead if these bonus bucks were real.
I'm not going to book the room, because I found that the Capital Hilton was available for about 35% less, so I guess we'll never know for sure. |
