Sky Priority Baggage (C+)
Dropped my bag off this morning for an international flight in paid C+ with my current status only being lowly silver. To my surprise the bag tag said “Priority” and the agent applied the yellow Priority banner to the bag tag. Not complaining by any means, but I didn’t think my bag would be eligible unless you are in F/J or GM or higher? Is it different for international? I’m connecting to a KE flight in ICN so every bit helps.

That's interesting, since Sky Priority boarding is a stated benefit of C+, but I'm not sure it's stated anywhere that Sky Priority baggage handling is also. But two of the Sky Priority benefits are "highest priority boarding" (well we know what that means) and "expedited baggage service" (which is nice when it happens).

IMO the pop-up "Compare Experiences" chart at
https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...fort-plus.html
is pretty clear that C+ by itself (i.e. absent other Medallion status) gives you Sky Priority only for boarding purposes and nothing else:

However it's easy to envision how an agent could look at the BP and see "SKY" and grant the other benefits as well.

You're saying there's literally no way for the agent to override? How does that work in the case where elite bag benefits are extended to a non-status companion's on a separate PNR? Or does that only grant weight allowance and not priority handling?

Technically policy says need to be on same PNR, so fact they'll extend fee waiver is a plus.

OK, but OP says they're Silver and got not just the yellow priority attachment but that the bag tag itself says priority, so there's still something else going on...

Does it matter perhaps if the C+ was paid for, or if not paid, the upgrade to C+ cleared in advance of bag drop?
My general experience also as a FO is that I am usually not upgraded to C+ (assuming I get it) until after my bags are dropped. Thus if C+ = bag priority, which may or may not be the case..., regardless at bag drop I wont get the priority sticker, because at that point I am not “priority” yet.

OP here. Thanks for the comments. It was paid C+ at time of booking, so no upgrade. Bag tag itself said “Priority” in addition to the yellow tag. Sounds like it’s something the system did, but also unexpectedly as per the chart someone posted the expedited baggage wasn’t part of my purchased benefits. Anyway, it was a nice surprise! I will be sure and notice if the same happens on the return.

How so? None of the DL AMEXes give you Sky Priority, just Zone 1 boarding.
(Although I did learn something new in checking the offer terms, in that the Reserve card does gives you access to the Sky Priority security checkpoint lane if there is one but that still doesn't explain priority-tagged luggage)

right, so I'm still not sure why you asked if any of the posters had a DL AMEX -- I'm missing something, which of the posted experiences would be explained by having a DL AMEX?
