Elite standby upgrades (cutoff)
When is the Elite standby upgrade cutoff?
Seven days , three days , 24 hrs ....?
To lodge the upgrade I assume airport control take over on the day of the flight

I have booked (and got accepted) an RU the morning of NZ1 from LAX. Had to leave it that late as that was when the RU arrived, got the status on the outbound and was day 7. Guessing was in airport control by that point as would have left LHR and was maybe t-12h

And the night before a flight I tried to gift two GE upgrades to a neighbour to go from works to works deluxe. Air NZ confirmed there were seats available but declined the upgrades as they said I needed to have lodged them 24 hours in advance.
