Good luck. I would keep calling.

I've been trying trying get my miles credited on a 016 ticket on a UA codeshare flight operated by LH. Apparently they know there is problem about their system not recognizing it as a 016 number and not giving the x11 (for a 1K) and instead crediting the flight as LH.

I've called and emailed and they tell me "technology" is aware of the problem. Furthermore, they ask for patience as they don't have a repair date nor are they allowed to manually post it.

yup, that's well-known. AC is much better w/ the new system ... will definitely make me book for AC tickets moving forward

LH PQDs w/ 016 tickets has been broken for well over 1 year. I would not wait and keep emailing back until they credit the miles.

What's odd is the true LH flights on 016 posted okay. It was the UA8784 operated by LH that had the problem.

I contacted them again. My earlier request had been denied by the partner. They now resubmited my request to the partner...

They say doing the same things results in the same results, we will see what happens.

What I find odd is that the partner needs to approve the request. I suppose this is an approval just to confirm that I actually flew on the flight? All the other necessary information is on the e-ticket and boarding pass I provided them (like FFnumber, booking class)

While the miles are posted in your UA MP account, the miles are placed there by the operating carrier. The operating carrier has to "purchase" those mileage credits and place them in your account. UA is not giving you the mileage, the operating carrier is.

Tx WineCountryUA. It's a good insight, and it indeed makes sense, however it triggers some extra questions...
This means that when UA has changed it's partner earnings recently they have to do this in agreement with their partners. I would suppose, as you describe it, that it will rather be the partners that decide on the mileage earnings. Why then did the mileage earnings change at the moment UA implemented it's new structure if it's mostly driven by the partners.

Here's an added little "bonus" on partner earnings under the new scheme - there's no longer a 500 mile RDM minimum for Premiers on Avianca (or other *A partners, so far as I can tell from the charts). So my AV D fare from BOG-CTG accrued only 405 miles.

The level of nickel-and-diming is really quite astonishing.

500 mile PQM mins are still listed for AC, LH, SA, .... (did not check all -- not all had them in the past). I don't see RDM mins for those airlines so we have to wait to to hear from others to know for sure.

It just takes a few weeks. I flew a UA codeshare on LH FRA-EWR and I got a total of 41,000 miles in A class, and PQD of $3760. It was a rare flight for me as I try to stay off partners when there is a UA operated flight so PQD's will count toward GS re-qualification, but in this instance I couldn't make the UA-operated flight. I called up GS line once and they just said the miles will post, but it takes a long time. Fair enough.

I got 500 PQM but actual mileage for RDM.

Will I earn PQM? (LH K/L Fare on 016 stock)

Flying LH, on LH metal only with no legs on united. Tickets bought thru United (016). Using my MP account.

Outbound: K fare
Return: L fare

Each is about 1,000 miles

Will I earn PQM with for my MP account and if so, how much? I dont really care about RDM in this case - was not sure if this is for the big DM thread

This is the key point -- under the hidden items in Additional conditions
Codeshare and partner flights: If you purchase a ticket for a flight that is marketed by United but operated by another airline (known as a codeshare flight), the fare class that appears on your ticket may differ from the fare class that the operating airline uses to determine flight miles earned. If a partner flight is not eligible to earn award miles, then it is also not eligible to earn Premier qualifying miles, segments or dollars.

at least with ua, your earning is based on the fare of the operating carrier (which metal you're flying on). if the fare isn't on the chart then it earns you 0.

some say this is due to UA chintziness, but i dunno, lh is chintzy all around, same with sa. but someone please correct me if otherwise.

I'm currently slightly confused by the percentages and 500PQM minimums:

On a 50% PQM earning fare on Swiss/LX, should the minimum earning still be 500PQM (as opposed to 250PQM)?

The United Swiss Partner page states "Premier members earn a minimum of 500 Premier qualifying miles on all eligible purchased fare classes" which suggests that it should be 500PQM, regardless of percentage - however I've actually been awarded less in practice:

I was awarded only 295PQM on a 590 mile K-Class (50% earning) flight, even though I'm a Premier Silver. I did get the expected 500PQM on a 46-mile SAS flight (a connecting flight on the same booking, it was credited 1-2 days before the Swiss flight was credited).

(I'm aware that 125PQM/250PQM minmums exist for other airlines - but they appear to be explicitly mentioned on the partner pages from what I've seen. E.g. the United Air Canada partner page states 500PQM minimum, except on S,T,L,A,K, i.e. the 25% fare classes. The Swiss page however doesn't mention different minimums for their 50% classes.)

televisor, welcome to FlyerTalk!

I moved your post above to this thread as there are different rules for partner flights not operated by United than for flights operated by UA (thread you originally posted in). The current thread discussion will be much better to explore the differences in credit you found and to test whether those differences are correct or not. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator.
