Even the 'visual' side is purely superficial - it looks more visual at first, but really isn't (try 'enjoying' the gallery. The old one was horrible too, the photos are now bigger, but not much of a viewing experience and still not enough photos really showcasing each resort).
Also surprised at the lack of videos or virtual tours for individual suites. C'mon Aman, this is 2015...
I'm only hoping that this site is a prototype and there are improvements to come.

But I agree - it would be great if someone who has been posts their experiences here. I'm still really wondering exactly how much of the resort is actually done.

They did not want me to post the entire experience online, as Aman highly compensated them, but they said the place is essentially not finished and their holiday was a complete disaster. He said that whilst the place is beautiful it is far from finished and there is still a long way to go construction wise.

In a way, it is comical, everything is so clich - if you'd told me the details years ago I would have said it sounds like a bad movie script.
Amanera could be worth a visit for Christmas '16. Until then, I remain very hesitant.

Of course they are. Is there something in my comment that leads you to believe otherwise?
I'm just voicing my opinion. And my opinion is that I don't put much faith in someone who posts about the experiences of others in such a general fashion. And Gallivanters commentary of 'endless horrific feedback' seems like hyperbole to me. Honestly, I put much more faith in the commentary made above by MacMyDay. But that's just me.
And having said all of this, I wouldn't go to the resort for a good 9-12 months either. It's clearly not finished, and my hunch is that with service being what it is in the Caribbean, unless they brought over enough people from the Philippines to staff the entire resort, I can't imagine service is anywhere near where it should be.

the newest Aman, Amanera (Dominican Republic)
We just returned from the Dominican Republic (family of four, five night stay). I made an inquiry to Amanera and was told our family (children are nine years of age) would require two suites or the two bedroom suite. The property seems quite unfriendly for family travel based on this communication (paying double rate to travel with small children?)
We stayed in Cap Cana, at the Eden Roc. The Dominican staff were outstanding... as attentive as any service we have experienced at Amangiri or Amangani. The amenities of golf, beach club, kids' club and beach restaurant were ideal for family travel. The hospitality of the Dominican people was warm... I have high expectations that Amanera will offer excellent service based on our (limited) experience with the Dominican people.

(which is aimed at Aman for their horrible 'revamp' of the website).
