Also what happened to Mel after episode 4? she dissapeared!

Have any of you seen these characters at DXB?
I am exactly the same.

I love Mel and all scenes with her. I also don't care much about the engineering and aircraft aspect of the show. Mel Sabharwal is the real entertainment!

I'm only on episode 2 currently. I am sad that she disappears after 4.

You may be thinking of Airport which was a fly-on-the-wall documentary series made by the BBC between 1996 and 2008. There were 10 series or seasons to use the US nomenclature. In 2013 the BBC ran a series of 5 nightly 60 minute broadcasts live from Heathrow under the title Airport Live. This has been re-edited into a 3 part series currently showing on Watch in the UK as Airport 24/7.

In 2010 the BBC broadcast a comedy series entitled Come Fly with Me which was based in a fictional airport (Stansted is where the airport scenes were shot I believe). The programme was narrated in the style of a fly-on-the-wall documentary and featured a number of characters who bore an amazing resemblance to real life participants in the Airport series. My favourite character was the First Class stewardess who flew for the fictional international flag carrier Great British Air, I have yet to meet her match on EK, or BA for that matter :-)

There's also the series on BA. I think it's called "A Very British Airline". The series is quite good and can be found on YouTube.

Penny and the check-in staff were hilarious.

Season 2, Episode 7 is now up on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mgg4VLFQZc

As with Episode 6, they seem to be veering heavily to the construction/mechanical aspects of the airport, leaving likely great human
interest stories on the table. But Mel was, indeed, back!

Just watching Episode 1 of Series 2, where's Humaid? By far the best of the lot from Series 1.

I've come to respect the senior customs officer--besides Arabic and English, he also speaks some Urdu and Farsi.
