New on Hyatt.com: Hyatt Times Square New York
While making another booking this morning, I saw this:
http://timessquare.hyatt.com/hyatt/h...xtCorporateId=
"Opening Fall 2013"
I don't recall seeing this property--located on 45th--ever mentioned. Anyone familiar with this?

But there's been quite a bit of commentary in recent months at BoardingArea. Here are two examples:

And people say the bloggers add nothing to the conversation…

I believe thee is a new Hyatt Place on 36th Street. It is a class 4 hotel. All other NYC Hyatt's are class 5 or 6.

It is pretty amazing that in a few short years, Hyatt went from having one Hyatt in all of Manhattan (after losing the Park Hyatt Stanhope), to by early next year having 8! And in about 1 square mile in mid town, there will be 6: A Park Hyatt, an Andaz, a Grand Hyatt, a Hyatt Place, and two regular Hyatts. My head is spinning with the choices now!

It looks like the Hyatt Union Square got pushed back just a little. Opening date is now April 30, 2013.
Also, since the Hyatt 48 Lex is going up to a category 5 (from a category 4), both these Hyatts will be the best redemption value for full service Hyatts in NYC.

Looks like this hotel is opening Dec-3rd. I received a promo e-mail announcing the opening and 7500 GP points for a 2 night stay. Here's the launch page:

BTW shows up as 22,000 points (cat 6)
