He sits up front if we split. I'm 8 inches shorter and 80 lbs lighter and I don't drink alcohol, so some of the amenities of first/biz are far more important to him.

I've noticed the same thing but with a bit of a twist. My S/O (different last name, no status) is listed above me when we're on the same PNR waiting for an UG. I asked the AAngel at the club in DFW terminal D and she couldn't figure out why either. Both requests done at the same time, plus she inherits my status. I wonder what gives?

Why don't you let your better half sit in front?

Exactly! Logic (and not antiquated notions of chivalry) does prevail sometimes.

Cheers.

lol. I meant that. If she doesn't sit up front I sleep on the couch. I mean, I'm exaggerating. Sort of.

For me, it was less the chivalry aspect and more that I fly in J/F constantly. As a result, sitting in the back (with a snack and drink, no less) and letting my SO have the F seat made sense to me.

Fair point. In our case, we both fly J/F constantly, so it's a wash

Cheers.

T-12 still no UG. MIA-SFO on 767 with 30 seats I would expect to score an UG. 3 seats left for sale according to AA.com from 0 earlier this week. Where did these people go?

Paid J is fickle. Plus a lot of morning connections from South American can be rerouted for various reasons. I think the morning 767 is a difficult upgrade.

In my experience LAX-BOS-LAX is one of the hardest routes for a UG. Good Luck!

I can do you one better. 2499 tomorrow DFW-LAX. F7(8 seats showing available) and EXP purchased 3+ months ago did not clear at 24 hours out.

Now I'm not worried that it won't clear, but F7? Come on.

I'm on 2419, and had the same happen to me. Suddenly the u/g cleared yesterday morning, despite it being F7 since the EXP window opened up.

*sigh*. I'm flying that Wednesday evening and EF is showing F1... which is better than the F0 it was showing a couple of days ago. That said, BOS-ORD-PHX on Tuesday cleared at exactly T-100.

When my wife and kid is flying with me and I use a SWU for them, would their upgrade clear at the same time as mine even when they don't have status?
