Good spot! Will always prefer KLIA (even moreso now), but yeah anything to make the LCCT experience slightly more bearable would help.

The queues for check in were horrendous. It was only as a I stood, bewildered, looking for the Red Carpet desk that I heard this "Mr Wozza2404?" and this angel waiting for me. Apparently I was the only customer booked onto the service, and suddenly all my bags were whisked away, she took my passport and I was put in the lounge whilst she sorted everything out.
She came back (and woke me up) about 15 mins before the flight, walked me straight past the immigration and security queues (through the Crew lines), straight to the gate, and onto the buggy.
I genuinely don't think I'd have survived that hangover if I hadn't ticked the Red Carpet box when booking!

It may not be worth it at all airports it's offered: Jakarta's a regular for me, and the new terminal 3 is a dream, compared to the older terminals used by some other LCC.

I'll second that suggestion! It's 20 well spent - but the cautious can always wait until the day to check out the queues, and pay an additional 5 as a walk-up fee.

Just booked a MH business redemption from KUL-SIN on Sunday. Air Asia were asking quite a lot (probably as it's the Sunday afternoon after Chinese New Year). Cost me 9000 Avios and 50.
Not bad at all.

OW promo on MH flights
As per the oneworld site
To celebrate the addition of the new recruit to oneworld, members of established member airlines' loyalty programmes will receive double the normal mileage awards when flying on Malaysia Airlines between 15 February 2013 and 15 April 2013 on tickets bought from today to 15 April 2013`, to mark its addition to the alliance.
Is this automatic or does one need to register somewhere?
Also - only on MH metal or also on MH codeshares? (I have an MH codeshare on RJ metal coming up, would appreciate the double Avios)

Avios earning on MH flights
I know there has been thread on Avios earning on new OW partner MH, but couldn't find it, so apologies for starting new one.
Have had problems myself with getting avios credited, and just got reply from BAEC on my latest long haul flights....
Booking class Q (used by our company TA) does not accrue any tier points or mileage.... (The BAEC OW page has been updated with all booking classes)
So all correct from MH and BAEC point of view, just very grumpy with TA.
Four flights so far with MH, total earnings just over 100 miles and 20 TP....
End of rant.

Earning with MH
Hi guys
I have seen the table for earning with MH but when I go to the option to calculate the Tier points and miles it comes up with a big zero. If I choose ba it works ok.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Bit disappointed with the earning of Avios on Malaysia Airlines - I booked a last minute trip (cost 300 for KUL-HAN return) and it booked into the V fare bucket, so only 316 Avios earned each way, for 300...

There are always situations like this. Book a Y return LHR-EDI and you'll pay 550+ for 500 Avios each way.

First thing to check: Are you doing this sector by sector? For example, for LHR-KUL-BKK you need to calculate LHR-KUL and KUL-BKK separately.

Yes, but forgot to add that an advance booking on the same route (KUL-HAN) costing 180 booked into K, giving 50% of the distance flown, not 25%. Things just don't add up. Pay more, get booked into a lower fare bucket earning less miles.
