Come on.....
If you read the post I was replying to, it would be pretty clear that I was asking when they (BCN Ren) were leaving the Marriott property.
With the multitude of media being used today (tablets/phones), we should all be a little more forgiving to auto correct.

in response to a question I can now understand, since the BCN Ren Airport has no inventory available after 30 October I suspect the answer to your question is 30 October........
then again, since this thread is regarding the soon to be open Ren Fira hard to know which prop you were looking for info on.......
and, if I'm supposed to know what "auto correct" means, actually I don't ............

Good to know it's opening soon. So BKK, will you still be able to do your trip & report back?
Cheers.

(at least last yr at Shanghai Centre Rms Mgr gave me a 2-week heads up............ same earlier this yr at Park Hyatt Sydney, but with Fira, nahdah, nothing as if silence was golden!)..............

Thanks.....
Looks like we made it under the wire! Reservations are for Oct 25-27!
Rates were awesome.....88 euros. But if it wasn't going to be a Marriott property at time of stay, I would have booked something else.
Good to know.

Barcelona Fira Hotel
Does anybody know anything about the NEW Renaissance Barcelona Fira hotel?
Not to be confused with the Renaissance Barcelona Hotel which this thread is discussing. But instead of starting a new thread I thought I would ask here first to see if anyone knew anything and/or had feedback about it. That and people will search for Barcelona Renaissance and hopefully this thread can handle discussion and comparison of both Barcelona Renaissance properties.
Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel
The most I can find out is that it used to be the Hotel Catalonia Fira.
It looks like it has been open a couple months if the reviews on tripadvisor are any indication. Generally good reviews on tripadvisor although it appears only one discusses Marriott Members and the lack of lounge but fails to mention whether they had status or whether breakfast was comped. I am sure it is per the rules, but curious as to whether anyone has first hand accounts they can share from this property.
FWIW, rates are much better than the other Renaissance for my dates next Sep.
Follow-up: After further consideration, I canceled the reservation at the Fira Renaissance and restored my reservation at the Barcelona Renaissance which appears to be in a much better and more central location.

Need help deciding which hotel to choose in Barcelona and whether to use points/cash
There are 10 properties but 1 is a Ritz, 7 are AC hotels and 2 are Renaissance.
Ritz is beyond my affordability
AC hotels from what I have read so far does not offer free breakfast hence I am lukewarm on them especially when entire family is traveling.
It leave me with 2 Ren properties.
From the description the Fira property sounds interesting but I have not seen any trip report or reviews from other members. The kids like tall hotels with good scenic views and has an amazing number of suites which I hope increases chances of an upgrade as a Platinum. Also, if I rent a car (not decided as yet) it is the only one that has a reasonable parking fee.
One more thing to consider is paying cash vs. points. Both are category 5 properties but I can daily rate for Fira property I am getting is 94 Euros but the downtown barcelona is around 157 Euros. Hence I was thinking of paying cash for Fira and pay with points for Barcelona depending on which one I choose.
Any help or pointers / criteria in making the decision would be greatly appreciated.
Lastly, even though it is a Marriott forum I do have the option of staying at Hiltons as well and so if anybody has a perspective on comparing the Renaissance properties with the 2 hilton that would be welcome as well.

I stayed there last night. Our flight to UK was canceled and rather than wait for BA to find us a hotel, I called MR and said "Fine me a hotel in Barcelona on points" which resulted in a 20,000 point deduction and a night at the Renaissance.
All in all, it was OK. Nothing outstanding but ticks all the boxes as a big city business hotel.
The location is good with a few nice restaurants in the area.
Reception area looks very clean, glass and chrome look. We were upgraded to an exec room on the top floor that was roomy and adequate. Nice bathroom, all basic amenities there.
Internet and breakfast fee for a Plat and the breakfast buffet was jolly good.
We went out to a local snack bar, but there's a half decent looking steakhouse in the hotel.
Oh and we got a 1400 checkout without murmur.
If our once cancelled flight gets called off again, I'd go back there tonight.

I am surprised that no nobody here has stayed at the Renaissance Fira to provide some input on their experience. However, another question came to mind but did not want to create another thread. If I take a trip for 2 days / 1 night to Rome meaning I check out Day 1 morning and return Day 2 night to recheck-in can I store my luggage at the hotel.

They have.
If you do a search -- instead of starting a new thread -- you will find 2 Renaissance threads already on file, one for the Fira and the other for the downton location.
Your othe question is a hotel specific question and you willl have to ask the hotel if that is possible and what they may charge you.
