Monty was in Bora Bora few weeks ago. Not sure will he move back to here?

So Kage was right when he first mentioned it in February!

And one personal thing to add: Tadao Ando totally rocks. We visited his museums at Naoshima Island, and they were the most outstanding architectural experiences I ever had on the world...
Well I actually can't wait to see what ANDO has done for the DIAOYUTAI LAMA TEMPLE HOTEL ( at YONGHEGONG ) in Beijing. Suppose to open late 2012. But as of my last visit there ,3 weeks ago , still not yet stirred.

My biggest argggghhhh is its a MGM branded property ... R they kidding ? ,!!

I don't like anything ANDO has done so far including Sight 2121 Tokyo ... It all seems hard and indulgent ... I am more comfortable with his private houses than commercial stuff.

His Capella NISEKO was my long awaited hope of seeing a big scale property of his but that hasn't materialized

He is more popular/ treasured and championed by the western media thus his popularity and following there ...but frankly a yet to be proven entity , commercially or otherwise , and accepted.

kona was 125 rooms

no idea re aman/GHM hawaii, but there is at least a financial/office/etc presence there (in DLF fin docs)

Wow what a downgrade for Nizuc! What a shame, it was going to be a nice place.
As far as I know GHM is owned by Hans Jenni and Adrian Zecha might have some part of it,,

No Aman Nevis...

...due to "differences of opinion", as tweeted by Gallivanter's: https://twitter.com/Gallivanters/sta...53276465680385

Sounds like the reason are the differences are between government and Zecha over the fuel dump, as found by Kagehitokiri some days ago:

"nevis >

I would bet the differences are between government and Zecha...
maybe related to the fuel dump?

Was just told last night that Aman Jordan should be officially announced (location and all) within the next couple of months, and that opening should be in '13 ... already in build. Wouldn't say where, though my guess would be Wadi Rum.

Also went on to say that DLF will be re-taking control of the New Delhi property, so there will be no more Aman in "Aman New Delhi"; also happening sometime next year (2Q?)

Lastly -- Aman Peru! Did not get a timeframe though.

Ooops: GHM opens The Aayus in Mumbai in 2013!

Out of the blue, GHM announces a new hotel, opening Dec 2013 in Mumbay - and it sounds great:

- Called "The Aayu’s"
- Only 42 suites, so really intimate and possibly amanesque
- in the top floors of a 200-meter-high building
- overlooking historic Shivaji Park and the Arabian Sea to the west, and the island mainland to the east
- 50th floor rooftop bar
- one signature restaurant by Robouchon
- one more signature restaurant by japanese star chef Hide Yamamoto
- interior design by Jaya Ibrahim (Legian Bali, Chedi Muscat and Nam Hai)

Aman Venice early?

According to printed Gallivanter's Gossip, longtime-Aman Olivia Richli and Livio Ranza will open Aman Venice in the first quarter of 2013. I could not really believe this early date, but of course I would be happy indeed!

More Ahn Luh

Also according to printed Gallivanter's Guide, GHMs new Ahn Luh brand is planning some more stuff:

- Ahn Luh Delta Island, Xunliao Bay, not far from Shenzen

- Ahn Luh Lhasa, Tibet

plus the two Ahn Luhs in Dujangyan and Beijing, which we mentioned earlier here.
