2) Unspoiled view of the bay (if you choose Habourview). At the MO, the views are obstructed somewhat by the building.
3) Nicer service touches from housekeeping... Housekeeping puts beside my Ipad and laptop black cleaning clothes so that I can clean the screen. The power cords are all properly tied, fresh fruits are always refreshed daily, and at turndown, there's always a nice treat before bed (a nice homemade box of chocolates, a piece of cake, etc...)
4) The room has fresh cut flowers... None at the MO.. other than the green plant
5) Spa area is much bigger at the FS, and the gym is very nice.. The MO's gym is very small, and the weights are few and in between.
6) Caprice (need I say more).. Although the Mandarin Grill comes close.. The truffle souffle is to die for...
7) At the FS lobby there is a live piano player every day..none at the MO
Very interesting post. FSHK is also my all time favorite hotel. I have stayed there more than 15 times already since the hotel opened in 2006 and there has not been one imperfect stay, very high standards indeed. It is certainly FS's flagship in Asia.

Agree with all the points above although I think for (3) - box of chocolate / piece of cake, they only have it for suites. For (6) - Caprice is certainly good but to get a table is This place is fully book weeks or even months in advance.

Two things the FSHK can improve is (1) the in-room tech is getting rather long in the tooth and (2) the buffet breakfast at Blue-Bar can be better, too limited.

Update on the FSHK

It looks like the FSHK now has live music in the lobby restaurant in the evening: a 3 piece band: piano, double bass and clarinet, Monday to Saturday. On Sunday it's only the piano. This is in addition to the piano player that plays during lunch and tea.

The piece of cake/box of of chocolate is given to me every night... Even if I am not in the suite.

Agreed with the Internet... It's been very slow even with the premium package (faster Internet option offered) over the last few days.

Anyone provide any updated opinions?

I am considering FS, MOHK and Langham Place. The top suites at Langham Place appear to be the best.

I think the Four Seasons is one of the best city hotels I've ever stayed in.

Langham Place is not Virtuoso, so no amenities there...

The MO is right by Statue Square, so closer to the center of things. The FS is closer to the escalator going up the hill...

And if you want to going shopping- being inside the IFC is probably not the worst place to be (the FS is inside the shopping centre).

I've stayed at the Peninsula, FS, Island Shangri La, and the Upper House. Of those, my favorite, is the Upper House. A bit "hip", but fantastic harbor views and among the larger rooms in HK. It's above pacific place, so easy access to transportation and shopping. The suites in the Peninsula are amazing, but not exactly cheap. Perhaps I'm too nostalgic, but I preferred the pre-renovation furnishings. FS rooms are a bit cramped and somewhat anticeptic, although the club lounge is fabulous.

While the MOHK is linked to Princes Building, Landmark ( MOLandmark ), Alexandra House , etc with best ' decent ' shopping & dining all nearby.
Of course, short walk to IFC via interconnecting bridges via buildings mentioned

This Forum is all about sharing especially the good bits

FS now closer to Star Ferry ( since move )

Some renovation going on at Pacific Place in Nov

This is going to be apart of a honeymoon. Trying to hit Singapore, Maldives, and HK on the return. FS might be the best bet. I can hit a FS in all those cities and rack up some points.

There's no such thing as "FS points." Unless you mean the "By Invitation" or whatever that program is called.

The actual difference in location between MO and FS is about 8 minutes, all by covered (and sometimes air conditioned) sky bridges. I personally prefer the location of the MO, since it is less offset from the rest of the city. I find the FS location a bit too removed. But both are very good, and I wouldn't fret about either. Wherever you stay, I would highly advise eating at Lung King Heen, the FS Chinese restaurant. Amazing!

Personally, I would probably stay in the FS next time over the MO, if room rates are not too different, due to loving Lung King Heen.

A great feature of the Langham Place Chuan suites is a private steam room and infinity bath which few other hotels offer at any price. I used to stay at the Pen but prefer this now, and service is very similar to Pen/FS standard for this part of the hotel (quite different from the rest of LP. Michelin 2-star restaurant that will do room service (at least to the top suites) helps, not quite up to the Pen/FS but very close (and they don't do room service for the better food, at least not for me).

My personal favourite is MOHK (including for its location), but I agree with others that the difference in location between MOHK and FS is not sufficiently important to drive the choice of one over the other. Choose the one you like the look of best and you won't be disappointed.

The jewellery stores in the MOHK are pretty impressive - you may find that either a positive or a negative on honeymoon!

FS is closer to the airport train, if you plan to use that mode of transport...
