Which Edwardian London?
Hi
Can anyone recommend a Radisson Edwardian for London? I have booked the Mayfair for my first stay and would like some suggestions for my second a few days later. Wondering if there is an out and out favourite of the forum users?
thanks

I stay in the Radisson's quite a lot in London as we have a prefered corporate rate with them. In my opinion you are best to extend your stay at the Mayfair - it is the best by far. The other hotels are ok but the room sizes and quality are far superior at the Mayfair... as reflected in the room rates!

Thank you oxtailsoup. Will do as you say. Radisson have very kindly matched my Hilton status and i'm looking forward to some uncomplicated stays.

I was at the Berkshire one recently and although the rooms were quite cramped, the location made up for it (next to Baker St. tube station).
I wouldn't choose it though if the room itself is the most important part of your stay.

A new ParkPlaza hotel has just opened in London. Looks quite nice actually.

I was wondering whether The Mayfair participated in Our World,Your Lounge?
The goldpointsplus site indicates 'Valid at Radisson Blu, Radisson Edwardian or Park Plaza hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.' but it would be reassuring to get some confirmation before waltzing in there to blank looks.

Bumping for new information
I will be staying 3-4 nights in London in fall 2012 for our 20th anniversary trip.
Based on price, I'd assumed Mayfair would be the nicest but it has some poor recent reviews. Has anyone stayed there in the past 6 mos to a year? Care to comment?
I'm also looking at the Edwardian Mercer Street. It has more consistently good reviews.
Any others you'd recommend?
Thanks for input,
Anita

Does anyone have any advice about the best Radisson in London? Any recent stays at May Fair? Or any of the Edwardian hotels?
This is for our 20th anniversary trip next year and I want something wonderful

I've stayed at 8 carlson properties yet. And my favorite ones are the
Radisson Bloomsbury and Park Plaza Riverbank. Both nice rooms. Excellent service and good breakfast. Only Riverbank is harder to reach by tube.
I disliked the May Fair. Rooms are no bigger of better equiped then other properties. I would say even worse. Bathroom is old, rooms are noisy and beds are small. (exept for suits) Only breakfast and service is prety good here
The berkshire has a good location. But rooms are tiny and not up to date.
Radisson edwardian grafton has been in the news even for notorious bad hygiene.
Park plaza sherlock holmes is a nice hotel with very good service, but some ammenities are old. Lifts take ages, breakfast room is small and choice is limited, but I would still say this is a very good hotel and would rank nr 3 of carlson properties.
Radisson Portman is old. Not very friendly staff and rooms are not spectacular. Same for breakfast.
Radisson kenilworth is good. But not as good as the bloomsbury which is right around the corner. Also good location for west end shows.
Mercer street and covent garden should be good as well. But haven't been there yet. Also park plaza county hall should be ok.
If you need any more info on these hotels. Feel free to contact. I've spent 3 years living in these hotels. So I think I know them prety well.
P.S. Sorry for bad writing. Posted via phone

I recently did 3 nights at Radisson Edwardian Leicester Square. The rooms were quite small and was a bit difficult to set up office.
WIFI was fine, no complaints.
There is horrible chrome/glass furniture. Can't use a mouse on the glass table top. Bang & Olufsen flat screen with the usual 5kg Bang & Olufsen remote control.
Large soap/shampoo bottles bolted to the wall, no other amenities.
Lobby is very small, elevator can fit 2 persons max (without luggage).
Early one morning the clerk tried to charge me 5gbp for a eur/UK plug adapter (handed over no charge when I threatened go next door to the Hampshire to ask there).
Location is ok, tube is close, but too many tourists in close proximity.
I will try different London property next week.
cheers,

been there last weekend...
Location: Excellent, right at Seven Dials / Covent Garden.
Room: Bathroom superb, our room had no real desk. Nonetheless, nice interior. TV did not always work properly, but we didnt care.
Breakfast: no complains. You can eat ala carte or help yourself at the buffet.
WIFI: worked fine.
Front desk: Friendly and very helpful.

Any updates?
With all the fun in London these days, I'm bumping this thread to see if anyone has updated reviews for London Radisson hotels. I'm trying to decide between May Fair and Mercer Street.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Did Sussex this past weekend for a night. Booked a single room, upgraded to a King Deluxe. Room was nice, staff was pretty good. A bit of noise from the street (entrance side). Trucks making noise until about 1am. Only complaint was I got paint on my jacket and backpack as they were doing some painting w/o signage (later posted signs). I didn't do breakfast. Very close to Hyde Park, shops on Oxford street and about half way from either Bond St or Marble Arch tube stops. Central line was closed on sat/sun, so made it a bit difficult. I may try the Mayfair out in about a month.
